Swim instructors must be able to teach, lead, organize and demonstrate the proper skills needed to swim.</p>\r\n\r\n<p><br />\r\nEssential Functions<br />\r\nInstructs private or group swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines with prepared lesson plans<br />\r\nBuilds effective, authentic relationships with students and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourages parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers.<br />\r\nConveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers students and parents to other programs<br />\r\nMaintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.)<br />\r\nAttends staff meetings and training as scheduled.<br />\r\nFollows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures and pool rules. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.<br />\r\nOrganizes and puts away needed class equipment.
