Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Job Posting&nbsp;\\r\\n\\r\\n&nbsp;\\r\\n\\r\\nJob Description&nbsp;\\r\\n\\r\\n&nbsp;\\r\\n\\r\\nDivision/Department:&nbsp;Mechanical /&nbsp;Diesel shop / MOW&nbsp;\\r\\n\\r\\nJob Title:&nbsp;Diesel and Equipment Mechanic&nbsp;II&nbsp;\\r\\n\\r\\nReports To:&nbsp;General Mechanical Foreman&nbsp;\\r\\n\\r\\nType of position:&nbsp;Hourly&nbsp;\\r\\n\\r\\nEmployee Classification:&nbsp;Full Time/Regular Classification&nbsp;\\r\\n\\r\\nLocation:&nbsp;Durango, CO&nbsp;\\r\\n\\r\\nPay:&nbsp;$25.00 - $33.00\\r\\n\\r\\nJob Summary:&nbsp;The Diesel and Equipment Mechanic&nbsp;II&nbsp;is&nbsp;a senior mechanic position in which the&nbsp;primary role is to&nbsp;carry out&nbsp;the&nbsp;maintenance of&nbsp;the D&amp;SNG fleet of&nbsp;diesel&nbsp;locomotives,&nbsp;heavy equipment&nbsp;and on track vehicles such as motor cars,&nbsp;tampers&nbsp;and speed swings.&nbsp;Candidates should have the ability to carry out lengthy rebuilds of equipment while&nbsp;helping&nbsp;to&nbsp;keep projects on budget and schedule.&nbsp;This position will be primarily based out of the Durango&nbsp;yard&nbsp;however&nbsp;will&nbsp;include&nbsp;semi-regular&nbsp;work at other locations on the railroad.&nbsp;\\r\\n\\r\\nThe ideal candidate will&nbsp;be a self-motivated individual with the ability to work both individually&nbsp;and in a team-setting.&nbsp;Candidates should&nbsp;possess&nbsp;a&nbsp;strong&nbsp;knowledge of diesel and gas engines as well as vehicle and equipment maintenance&nbsp;procedures. Preference will be given to candidates who&nbsp;possess&nbsp;understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems&nbsp;and/or&nbsp;possess&nbsp;any trade skills such as welding or machining.&nbsp;Additional&nbsp;consideration will be given to candidates who have experience in carrying out&nbsp;multi month&nbsp;repairs and overhauls.&nbsp;&nbsp;\\r\\n\\r\\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:&nbsp;\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tPerform routine maintenance, inspections and repairs on all necessary parts and components relating to diesel locomotives&nbsp;and on-track MOW equipment&nbsp;as&nbsp;required, including some railroad specific components, while working in a team environment.&nbsp;\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tPerform routine maintenance,&nbsp;inspections&nbsp;and repairs to&nbsp;various equipment&nbsp;electrical systems.&nbsp;\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tPerform routine repairs and diagnostics to Cummins, and Alco.&nbsp;\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tPerform routine maintenance,&nbsp;inspections&nbsp;and repairs to equipment&nbsp;including:&nbsp;Case tractors, Cat forklift, Pettibone equipment, John Deere excavator and Grove carry deck crane.&nbsp;\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tCarry out&nbsp;routine maintenance on Fairmont and Honda powered track cars, including wheels, brakes,&nbsp;drive&nbsp;trains&nbsp;and&nbsp;small engines.&nbsp;\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tPerform all manner of repair work and troubleshooting to tamping and ballast regulator machinery.&nbsp;\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tCarry out&nbsp;heavy repairs and&nbsp;overhauls&nbsp;of equipment.&nbsp;&nbsp;\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tAssist&nbsp;in the scheduling of repairs and maintenance&nbsp;of&nbsp;equipment.&nbsp;&nbsp;\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tComplete all required FRA, OSHA, and Company&nbsp;documentation of work performed on locomotives and equipment including repair reports.&nbsp;\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tEvaluate and recommend repair/replacement of equipment,&nbsp;parts&nbsp;and components.&nbsp;\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tInterpret verbal/written instructions and specifications, including reading&nbsp;blue prints,&nbsp;manuals&nbsp;and electrical schematics.&nbsp;\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tAssemble/disassemble parts and components of diesel locomotives and other
