In this role, you will be reviewing statements of personal history, investigating information provided in interviews, and recommending whether security clearances should be granted. </p>\n<p>To ensure success, personnel security specialists should exhibit extensive experience in background investigations and the ability to accurately interpret security-related information. A first-class Personnel Security Specialist will be someone whose investigative skills result in reliable security clearance recommendations. </p>\n<p><strong>***This position is 100% daily in person at Lexington Park, MD</strong><strong>***</strong></p>\n<p><strong>**Must be US Citizen**</strong></p>\n<h2>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Duties include, but not limited to:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Determining the employment suitability of applicants who require security clearances.</li>\n <li>Reviewing questionnaire answers, statements of personal history, and other related data prior to starting formal background checks.</li>\n <li>Investigating pertinent background information, such as credit bureau reports, local agency checks, criminal records, and traffic violations.</li>\n <li>Evaluating interview answers and investigating potentially adverse information.</li>\n <li>Drafting follow-up questions for cases where insufficient information was provided.</li>\n <li>Determining the authenticity and veracity of all background information, interview answers, and statements.</li>\n <li>Preparing reports and recommending whether security clearances should be granted, suspended, revoked, or denied.</li>\n <li>Documenting processes and ensuring the protection of sensitive information.</li>\n <li>Developing and maintaining sound background investigation practices, as well as ensuring compliance.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Requirements</h2>\n<p><strong>Knowledge and Skills</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Two years’ experience as a personnel security specialist, or in a similar role</li>\n <li>Extensive knowledge of security policies, systems, procedures, and investigation techniques. </li>\n <li>Proficiency in office software and task management solutions, such as MS Word, Excel, and monday.com. </li>\n <li>Experience in gathering and reviewing background information. </li>\n <li>Advanced knowledge of information verification techniques. </li>\n <li>Exceptional ability to make recommendations and adjudicate on the granting of clearances. </li>\n <li>Advanced ability to document processes, report findings, and protect sensitive information. </li>\n <li>Ability to develop and maintain sound background investigation practices. </li>\n <li>Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Education</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in a related field. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Desired Requirements</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience in Defense & Aerospace Industry  </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Clearance</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>A current Top Secret/SCI clearance</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>#LI-VF1</p>\n<h2>Special Note</h2>\n<p>The position is contingent upon candidate’s ability to meet physical and medical requirements as needed by the position; including compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local jurisdictional requirements.</p>\n<h2>Benefits and Compensation</h2>At MAG Aerospace, we value your contributions providing our employees with a robust Total Rewards package that supports your total well-being.
