We offer locals and visitors an opportunity to experience breathtaking Alaska scenery, explore the miles of trails atop Mount Roberts, and learn more about Alaska Native culture. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Summary</strong></p>\n<p>The Retail Stock Clerk is responsible for receiving, storing, tagging, restocking, securing, distributing, and accounting for goods received at the Tramway through vendor outlets. Responsible for selling merchandise or art items in a retail gift shop and for the cleanliness of the store. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Part-time and full-time schedules are available. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>We're excited to share that the job is based in beautiful Juneau, Alaska! We kindly ask that all applicants either live in Juneau or be open to relocating at their own expense. </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Pay and Benefits: </strong></p>\n<p>Seasonal Employees are eligible for the Seasonal Employee Layoff Bonus Plan. The plan is designed to provide an effective means to motivate and compensate eligible seasonal employees during the term of their assignment. However, Goldbelt, Inc. may, in certain limited circumstances, grant discretionary performance bonuses outside of this program, in the sole discretion of the Company.</p>\n<p>Goldbelt, Inc. hopes that by providing short-term incentive compensation, this will motivate and increase the retention rate among its employees which in turn will enhance Goldbelt Inc.’s long-term value.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Stock Clerk I Starting Rate: $16.00 - DOE</p>\n<p>Stock Clerk II Starting Rate: $17.00 - DOE </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Necessary Skills and Knowledge</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to meet time and attendance requirements.</li>\n <li>Ability to work all different shifts including evenings, holidays, and weekends.</li>\n <li>Ability to handle stress under pressure.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication and customer service skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to learn, understand, and follow oral and written instructions/directions.</li>\n <li>Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with gift shop merchandise artists and vendors, knowing details and location of merchandise to facilitate sales.</li>\n <li>Ability to work directly with the public, providing information and assistance on a consistent basis.</li>\n <li>Ability/willingness to learn and pass on to customers those areas of interest to visitors, such as local history, people, culture, geography, etc.</li>\n <li>Ability to pull, lift and carry supplies and equipment.</li>\n <li>Ability to bend, squat, reach and retrieve items from above and in small, confined areas.</li>\n <li>Mechanical ability to put together display fixtures.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications (education, experience, skills)</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be at least fourteen (14) years of age and be able to lift 50 lbs. without a problem.</li>\n <li>Must be able to work an eight (8) hour shift if needed with the ability to stand or walk for long hours.</li>\n <li>If applicable, must be able to pass a background check.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferrred Qualifications (education, experience, skills)</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Current CPR and first aid certificates.</li>\n <li>Prior Tram Operations experience.</li>\n <li>High School Diploma or current enrolment in school.</li>\n <li>Twelve (12) months of Retail experience in the field of receiving and/or stocking.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Job Duties</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Retail Stock Clerk I:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs customer transactions for retail items, gifts or pieces of art in a retail setting.</li>\n <li>Explains characteristics and origin of items to customers.</li>\n <li>Maintains a friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous demeanor at all times.</li>\n <li>Assists with various levels of merchandising such as inventory, stocking, displaying, tagging, etc.</li>\n <li>Assists with opening or closing procedures.</li>\n <li>Assists with training of staff.</li>\n <li>Make and record cash receipt transactions.</li>\n <li>Assumes all responsibility for gift shop bank and till.</li>\n <li>Keeps retail space neat and orderly.</li>\n <li>Assists with sales products being properly and neatly displayed and stocked.</li>\n <li>Assists with hauling supplies to/from retail location.</li>\n <li>Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Retail Stock Clerk II:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>In addition to performing the above duties:</li>\n <li>Responsible for receiving, storing, restocking, securing, distributing and accounting for goods received at the Tramway through local vendor outlets.</li>\n <li>Repair and assemble displays and fixtures used to merchandise products for sale.</li>\n <li>On a daily or shift basis, restock inventory of items sold throughout the day.</li>\n <li>Notify Manager or Supervisor when orders are necessary.</li>\n</ul>",
