    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\" data-pasted=\"true\">Clay County is seeking a skilled <strong>Traffic Maintenance Technician</strong>. This critical role is responsible for the full lifecycle of road signage&mdash;from design and fabrication to installation&mdash;while providing vital support for subdivision inspections, right-of-way permits, and GIS infrastructure mapping. You will serve as a key technical resource for the County, ensuring roadway safety and regulatory compliance through expert field work and administrative coordination.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Primary Responsibilities:</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Signage Management:</strong> Fabricate, install, and maintain regulatory, warning, and street signs/posts. Ensure all signage conforms to <strong>MUTCD standards</strong>. Maintain inventory levels and manage the disposal or recycling of damaged materials.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Inspections &amp; Permitting:</strong> Assists with driveway and utility permits, including plan review and approval. Perform field inspections of new subdivision infrastructure and document existing conditions to ensure compliance with County guidelines.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Data &amp; GIS:</strong> Utilize GIS tools to locate and record County infrastructure components. Schedule and perform traffic count studies (volume, speed, etc.) using specialized counting equipment.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Public &amp; Agency Liaison:</strong> Coordinate right-of-way activities with utility companies and contractors. Respond to inquiries from citizens and other departments regarding permitting and regulations.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Emergency Response:</strong> Serve as a point of contact for after-hours emergencies. Participate in on-call rotations for public safety incidents, including snow removal and major storm cleanup.</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Knowledge of <strong>MUTCD requirements</strong> for sign layout and placement.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Proficiency in software for sign fabrication, asset management, and MS Office.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to read and interpret maps, construction drawings, and complex policies.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Skilled in operating specialized tools and equipment (bucket trucks, power tools, computers).</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Strong communication skills to establish effective relationships with contractors and the public.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Familiarity with the geography and road networks of <strong>rural Clay County</strong>.</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">High School Diploma or equivalent.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Proven experience in traffic sign requirements and County right-of-way standards.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Valid <strong>Missouri Class A or B CDL</strong></li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Clean background investigation (reputation for honesty and trustworthiness).</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in extreme outdoor weather conditions/uneven terrain.</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Desired Qualifications:</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Tanker and Hazmat endorsements.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Pre-existing familiarity with rural Clay County streets and locations.</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Work Environment:</strong><br>&nbsp;This role involves a mix of office, shop, and field work.
