No Holidays</span></strong></p><p><br></p><p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><strong>SUMMARY:&nbsp;</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">The Medical Laboratory Scientist works under general supervision to perform difficult and complex laboratory procedures involving a high degree of independent judgment. Assumes other duties and responsibilities as directed by Supervisor.&nbsp;<br><br><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Formal training which will probably be indicated by a <u>Bachelor&#39;s degree in Medical Laboratory Science; ASCP registered or equivalent</u>; skill in operating various laboratory equipment; ability to communicate effectively.&nbsp;<br><br><strong>PHYSICAL GUIDELINES:</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Physical guidelines include ability to move, traverse, position self, remain in a stationary position and negotiate steps for up to eight hours per day, use a microscope for up to eight hours per day; exposure to hazardous materials; manual dexterity and motor coordination; visual and auditory acuity; distinguish colors; move, lift and position materials weighing up to 20 pounds.<br><br><strong>NOTE:&nbsp;</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">This document is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed.
