    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><div><div><p data-pasted=\"true\">The Survey Rod Person operates and maintains all survey equipment, work under the direction of the Party Chief, collects and downloads survey data, directs loading and storage of equipment and maintains safety standards. The role of the Survey rod Person is to assist the Party Chief as directed.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><p>&bull; Understand procedures and operation of all surveying equipment, i.e. Static GPS, RTK, GPS, conventional total station, data collectors, levels, pipeline locator and magnetometer</p><p>&bull; Ensure that all equipment is in proper working order</p><p>&bull; Provide daily maintenance and security of equipment</p><p>&bull; Report all damaged and defective equipment to appropriate Supervisor</p><p>&bull; Supervise and assist with loading of equipment, boats, off-road vehicles</p><p>&bull; Assist Party Chief as needed with daily operations including review of project related drawings</p><p>&bull; Complete daily status forms prior to departure from office MS Planner or DFR</p><p>&bull; Proper storage of equipment</p><p>&bull; Preparation of field notes; understand how to write and read field notes and maps</p><p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Skills&nbsp;</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"font-weight: bold;\">No Survey Experience Required</li><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license with a clean driving record for the past 3 years<ul><li>Must be 21 years of age or older to be insurable on company auto insurance</li></ul></li><li>Verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Attention to detail</li><li>Land navigation and map reading competency</li><li>Willing to work alone and/or part of a small team</li><li>Physical fitness and dexterity including the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, cross fences when gates are unavailable, and stand or walk long periods - working outdoors in varying weather condition in varying terrain</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>AutoCAD experience in drafting or use of Carlson plugin</li><li>Current FAA Part 107 certification</li><li>Experience with Leica robotic total station and GNSS</li><li>Relevant civil or geospatial coursework</li></ul><p data-pasted=\"true\"><em>Gessner Engineering is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected status or characteristic.
