S/he teaches courses and performs various technical and routine duties within the “NM EMS Scope of Practice” utilizing knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, and protocols. S/he is flexible with work schedules and available for call.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Responds to emergency calls, providing basic and advanced life support transport and patient care</li><li>Stocks supplies</li><li>Washes trucks, cleans bays and station</li><li>Completes Run Reports and billing</li><li>Teaches classes in BLS, ACLS, PALS, EMT-Basic and EMT-Intermediate, if appropriate</li><li>Assumes responsibility for quality assurance and day-to-day shift operations when scheduled as (or in the absence of) “EMS 1 Medic”, including, but not limited to:</li><li>Coordinating daily shift activity and setting up transfers</li><li>Ensure all shifts are covered</li><li>Carrying the EMS cell phone</li><li>Acting as a liaison between EMS and House Supervisor</li><li>Ensuring general duties and reporting are completed</li><li>Completing shift report</li><li>Act as float medic</li><li>Additional duties as assigned</li></ul>",
