This role requires a high level of technical proficiency, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to patient-centered care. The Mammography Technologist I works collaboratively with Radiologists and other healthcare professionals, ensuring accurate imaging and patient comfort while maintaining compliance with state, federal, and regulatory standards, including FDA/MQSA and ACR requirements.&nbsp;<br><br><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p><ul><li>Performs mammography imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality screening and diagnostic images through proper positioning, technique, and compression.</li><li>Adheres to safety protocols, radiation protection standards, and infection control guidelines to ensure patient and staff safety.</li><li>Ensures equipment functionality and maintenance, performing routine quality control testing per ACR and FDA/MQSA requirements.</li><li>Reviews physician orders and patient history, ensuring all mammography procedures are correctly ordered, verified, and acknowledged.</li><li>Educates patients on breast health, self-exam techniques, and procedure expectations, addressing concerns with professionalism.</li><li>Assists radiologists with specialized mammography procedures, including fine needle aspiration (FNA), needle localizations, and biopsies, while maintaining sterile technique.</li><li>Prepares patients for invasive mammography-guided procedures, providing clear instructions and post-procedure care guidance.</li><li>Maintains accurate documentation and image storage as required by state, federal, and accreditation regulations.</li><li>Manages mammography inventory and supplies, ensuring cost-effective use and proper stock levels for daily operations.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li><li>Maintains regular and reliable attendance.</li><li>Complies with all policies and standards.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>1-3 years of experience in radiologic imaging required</li><li>2-4 years experience as a mammographer in an acute care hospital setting preferred</li></ul><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</strong></p><ul><li>Proficiency in mammographic positioning, imaging techniques, and radiation safety standards.</li><li>Strong understanding of FDA/MQSA, ACR, and state regulatory compliance requirements for mammography.</li><li>Ability to effectively communicate and provide patient education with empathy and professionalism.</li><li>Knowledge of aseptic and surgical techniques for mammography-guided procedures.</li><li>Attention to detail in documenting patient information, reports, and image storage requirements.</li><li>Proficiency in PACS, electronic medical records (EMR), and mammography equipment operation.</li><li>Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills in technical troubleshooting and patient care situations.</li></ul><p><strong>Licenses and Certifications</strong></p><ul><li>Licensed Radiologic Technologist as applicable by state required</li><li>ARRT Radiography Certification required and</li><li>(M) ARDMS or ARRT - Mammography certification or eligibility to obtain within six (6) months of hire required</li><li>BCLS - Basic Life Support required</li></ul>",
