The Medical Assistant/Driver will be responsible for assisting medical professionals in delivering comprehensive healthcare services, coordinating mobile unit operations, providing non-emergent transportation services, and ensuring the provision of quality care to underserved populations. The ideal candidate must have a commitment to providing high-quality care for complex patients, be dedicated to working and developing a collaborative team model of care, and have experience working with both physical and behavioral health diagnoses.&nbsp;</span></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\"><strong><u>Principal Responsibilities:</u></strong></span></p><ol><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Performs routine (noninvasive) patient care functions as prescribed by licensed health care professional following established clinic policies and procedures within defined scope of education, training and responsibilities.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Collects and records patient data including height, weight, BMI, temperature, pulse, respiration rate and blood pressure, pulse oximeter, and peak flow measurement according to established policies and procedures.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Performs lab tests, including finger sticks, after appropriate training and verification of competency.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Performs venipuncture and PPD skin placement. Documents measurement of PPD skin test and reports information directly to the provider or to the Registered Nurse.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Conducts follow-ups with patients via phone calls, encampment visits, and visits to other settings where patients can be found.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Uses multiple electronic platforms to gather patient information; documents appropriately and maintains medical records.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Works cooperatively with other clinical personnel and exhibits excellent working relations with patients, visitors, and staff, effectively communicating Street Medicine&#39;s mission.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Act as a patient advocate and liaison between the patient and community agencies (i.e., Housing for Health, Department of Human Services, hospitals, etc.) and ensures that patient needs are met with rights maintained; consults and collaborates with community providers to ensure continuity of care.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Works closely with Street Medicine Registered Nurse, Nursing Supervisor and Clinical Coordinator, Physician/ Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner, and several team members of the multi-disciplinary team.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Assists in medical services, office procedures, and a variety of hands-on patient care tasks and relays all appropriate health information to necessary personnel.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Assist homeless individuals in accessing appropriate medical services, mental health services, substance abuse treatment programs, and other support resources available at JWCH&rsquo;s Center for Community Health.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">&nbsp;Drive the mobile unit, and/or company shuttle to designated locations, adhering to the schedule and ensuring timely arrival at each site.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Maintain the mobile unit in a clean and organized manner, conducting routine inspections, and promptly reporting any maintenance issues.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Coordinate with healthcare staff to stock the mobile unit with necessary medical supplies, medications, and equipment.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Assist in setting up the mobile unit at each location, ensuring proper functionality of all equipment and a safe environment for patient care.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Comply with all applicable traffic laws and regulations, ensuring passenger safety and security at all times.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Keep accurate records of transportation activities, including mileage, destinations, and client information, as required by JWCH&rsquo;s policies and procedures.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant school with a current MA certificate.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Possess a valid California Driver&rsquo;s License</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">High School Diploma or GED.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Current BLS certificate from the American Heart Association.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Must have a clean driving record for the past three years and maintain a clear motor vehicle report during employment.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Two years&rsquo; experience in an ambulatory clinic/setting.</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">Verification of appropriate hours in approved Medical Assistant course to perform venipuncture.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;
