In this role, the Database Administrator will provide technical support for incident response, service degradations, outages, and other service interruptions.  In addition, the Database Administrator will investigate hardware and software problems related to the database-hosting infrastructure and perform corrective actions. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-weight: bold\">Major Activities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Architect, design, engineer, and document database servers and associated infrastructure in clustered, stand-alone, and/or appliance-hosted configurations, which fulfill mission requirements, service specifications, and cyber security mandates</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Perform all Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) hardening and configurations for all STIGs that apply to the system hosting the Database. Lead STIG assessments to ensure the system is hardened to the required level.    </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Sustain fleet of physical and virtual database-hosting servers running a mix of operating systems (Open Systems and Windows Systems) in multiple network environments</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Build, configure, and sustain database server clusters</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Perform daily operations, onsite support, and on-call support for all aspects of database architecture, database platforms, and database management software</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Perform optimization and performance testing, working with both physical and virtual servers and/or appliances, and provides expert-level troubleshooting and technical support for all incidents and issues</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Work with original equipment manufacturers and/or third-party vendors to resolve performance degradations and outages</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Plan, execute, and document server specification changes</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Support and participate in projects relating to the move of systems and services to modernized hosting environments and Cloud capabilities; provide expert advice on configuring database systems to meet the environment and boundary requirements, and customize services to meet new performance goals</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Perform other tasks as required by BME and the Government contracting office</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-weight: bold\">Knowledge/Skills/Abilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Ability to translate customer requirements into database structure</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Excellent oral and written communication skills</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Familiarity with using front-end scripting languages, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery to customize solution front-end is a plus</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\"> </span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-weight: bold\">Required Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 12pt\">Must have CompTIA Security+ CE</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 12pt\">Must have a minimum of 3 or more years of experience with designing, building, and managing databases</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience with SharePoint site management, site content management, permissions management, and workflow design and implementation</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Experience building and maintaining Content Management Platforms</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Experience with creating and formulating workflows</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Must have and maintain Secret Security clearance or higher</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-weight: bold\">Preferred Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Oracle or SQL Server certification</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">E-Verify</span>:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">OSC EdgeTech participates in E-Verify.
