    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong><u>Job Summary:&nbsp;</u></strong></p><p>The College of Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities (CoSSAH) at Harris-Stowe State University is seeking an energetic full-time Instructor of Art/Art History. A Master of Arts (MA) in Studio Art, Creative Artistry, or Art History is required; however, a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) is preferred. A strong candidate will have proficiency in student engagement through high-impact pedagogy that conveys the imperative of art in society, historically and presently. All candidates should be willing to demonstrate their commitment to working with undergraduate students in a minority-serving institution and possess a proficiency in teaching art in a culturally competent manner.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Key Responsibilities:</u></strong></p><p>&bull; Develop, maintain, and distribute course syllabi containing learning objectives (based on several levels of Bloom&rsquo;s Taxonomy), course requirements, instructor contact, and other institutional and accreditation requirements.</p><p>&bull; Prepare and deliver literature-driven instruction on art history and theory.</p><p>&bull; Perform instructional art demonstrations with technical proficiency.</p><p>&bull; Conducts appropriate evaluations of students&#39; performances and assigns grades based on such evaluations.</p><p>&bull; Maintains records of students&#39; grades and attendance according to University requirements.</p><p>&bull; Provides access to students through regular office hours and involvement on campus.</p><p>&bull; Provides academic and career advisement and assistance to students as appropriate.</p><p>&bull; Maintains professional skills and subject expertise through study and involvement in professional organizations.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Qualifications &amp; Expectations:</u></strong></p><p>&bull; A Master of Arts (MA) in Studio Art, Creative Artistry, or Art History.
