Description

The Sr. Permitting Coordinator works with the project team in processing permits for various projects. Qualifications: A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a professional architectural/engineering firm, government affairs experience, strong leadership, analytical and negotiating skills. This position requires an understanding of architecture/engineering and building construction, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to persuasively speak before large groups. The ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships internally and externally. Must be a self-starter with the ability to organize and implement several concurrent projects and exercise sound judgment in prioritizing. Must have a valid driver's license. Responsibilities/Skills: Responsible for creating and reviewing Due Diligence Reports, Site Investigation Reports (SIR), Signage Processes permit, projects, reports and correspondences with regulatory agencies and personnel at the local, state and federal level, assuring that all processes and procedures are documented and adhere to regulations. File reports and letters with regulatory agencies and are imperative to daily business functions. Addresses all questions and correspondences dealing with specific permits and projects. Meets with clients regarding all issues of the permit process. Creates reports needed to comply with Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies. Collects and reviews all plans, permits, and reports before sending them to agencies. Represents company in in-house and outside meetings with agencies, vendors, clients, and industry personnel. Attends meetings with different agencies and personnel with the purpose of expediting the permit process. Assists in site visits inherent with pre-application meetings and SIR’s. Prioritizes projects in regard to timeline and budget. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, able to handle stressful situations and multi-tasking, able to work under time constraints, long hours may be required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Overtime (40+ hours) may be required as needed. Must have the ability to lift and carry up to forty pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to handle stressful situations, multi-tasking, and working within reasonable time constraints to meet production schedules and budgets. Will work in normal office environment and may also be required to work outside of a normal office from time-to-time. The above criteria has been developed to establish guidelines for this position, but note that these are only guidelines, and a person’s ability, talent, effort, personality, and other aspects of the profession shall become a deciding factor for each position. Promotions are dependent on effort, attitude, ability, need, and schooling and should not be considered automatic.
