Successful performance helps ensure a well-maintained golf course.&nbsp;This position is responsible for maintaining the golf course grounds.<br></span><br><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">&nbsp;</span><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED</span></p><ul><li style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually having had a similar position for one to two years or associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship .&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver&rsquo;s license issued by the State for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Knowledge of golf course maintenance techniques.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Knowledge of the regulations regarding the use of fertilizers.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Skill in the use of equipment such as walking and riding greens mowers, tee mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, rollers, bunker rakes, carts, push mowers, chain saws and a variety of powered and nonpowered hand tools <span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">&nbsp;</span></li></ul><h4><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES</span></h4><p><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">&nbsp;</span><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Essential duties and functions may include the following:&nbsp;</span></p><ul><li style=\"font-size: 24px;\">May be assigned to cutting grass on the tee boxes, fairways, roughs, fringes and greens using a tractor mower; maintains rough and areas surrounding the golf course.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Sodding, trimming on and around the golf course green, fairways and tees.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Verticuts, top dresses, and drags greens&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Assists irrigators when needed in repairing irrigation leaks and replacing sprinkler heads and water lines.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Maintains sand traps by filling traps with sand, pumping water out of traps and spinning and raking the traps.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Removes trees, trims shrubs and weeds flower beds.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Assists in over seeding greens and tees.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Performs custodial operations on golf course grounds and buildings including cleaning restrooms and the pro shop.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-size: 24px;\">Performs other duties as assigned.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">&nbsp;</span><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS</span></p><p><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">&nbsp;</span><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">The work is typically performed while sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, or stooping.
