Summer Trainee will assist in ongoing neurobiology research projects in the lab, conducting routine research and development using common biochemistry and molecular biology methods
Responsibilities
Assist with ongoing neurobiology research projects using standard biochemistry and molecular biology techniques. Perform routine laboratory procedures including genotyping, RNA extraction, RT-qPCR, molecular cloning, protein expression and purification, and western blotting. Conduct peptide- and immuno-based pull-down assays and support other experimental workflows as needed. Accurately document experimental procedures, results, and research findings. Analyze data and contribute to the interpretation of experimental outcomes. Prepare written summaries and presentations of research findings for laboratory meetings and project discussions. Collaborate with research team members and maintain laboratory organization and compliance with established protocols. Work under the supervision and mentorship of Dr. Benjamin Weekley and Dr. Ian Maze. Performs other related duties assigned.

High School Diploma or GED required; Associates or greater depending on department and role. None, though some administrative exposure is a plus
