Explore key roles such as canine officers, handlers, trainers, veterinary technicians, and kennel managers.</p>\n<h2>Job Description</h2>\n<p><strong>Position requires a minimum of two years of canine years and trainer experience. </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Our canine group, under Allied Universal® Enhanced Protection Services, is hiring a Canine Training Specialist a Explosive Detection Canine (EDC) Trainer. The Enhanced Protection Services Security Explosives Detection Canine (EDC) Trainer will be responsible for the training of existing and newly hired Explosive Detection Canine Handlers (EDCH) in the assigned region.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>If assigned, an Explosive Detection Canine will reside with you in your home when not working with you on assignment.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Plan, organize and conduct explosives detection training of active and new EDC canines/handlers</li>\n <li>Develop and implement training programs related to explosive detection and proper search patterns</li>\n <li>Instruct canines/handlers how to detect explosives odor in an operational environment</li>\n <li>Teach canines/handlers proper search patterns to locate explosives in a multitude of search areas</li>\n <li>Conduct repetitive EDC operational training exercises</li>\n <li>Supervise MSA employees to ensure observance to MSA policies, and the adherence to client requirements</li>\n <li>Interact with EDC teams and clients locally, and regionally, in support of MSA contracts</li>\n <li>Ensures compliance with air cargo regulations and training requirements; design and implement internal audit methodologies; update training program to resolve deficiencies</li>\n <li>Maintains proper control of training records and materials</li>\n <li>Completes training reports of EDC teams</li>\n <li>Report training results and deficiencies to management; provide expert-level recommendations for go forward employment of trainers</li>\n <li>Maintains inventory of training aides stored at training facility</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent</li>\n <li>Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment</li>\n <li>Ability to obtain licensing form Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF)</li>\n <li>Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a detection canine handler and/or trainer</li>\n <li>Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience</li>\n <li>Experience in management of human resource issues at the supervisor level</li>\n <li>Work experience demonstrating the ability to train in passive response (final response is a sit)</li>\n <li>Must possess one or more of the following:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Service in any military branch (including Guard and Reserve)</li>\n   <li>Law enforcement role, with a completed accredited Law Enforcement Academy (Municipal/State/Federal)</li>\n   <li>Municipal or federal correctional officer, including attending a full-time accredited LE/Corrections Academy (must have enforcement responsibilities)</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Computer skills and knowledge to use Microsoft Word and Excel programs</li>\n <li>Excellent oral and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Knowledge of the herding breed and sporting breed</li>\n <li>Knowledge of Operant Conditioning and Classical Conditioning</li>\n <li>Knowledge of, and ability to handle, high and low explosives</li>\n <li>Possess basic knowledge of canine health and well being</li>\n <li>Possess adequate living environment to allow for the proper exercise and training of the canine</li>\n <li>Have access to reliable transportation sufficient to allow the safe transportation of the canine to and from work</li>\n <li>Willingness and ability to be available for incident/emergency response duty, standby duty, and client demonstrations, which includes various days and hours (10 to 15% travel is expected)</li>\n <li>Must possess a working smartphone capable of receiving/accepting voice mails, and a computer to enable you to set-up and access MSA Security company email</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone</li>\n <li>Prior civilian or military K9 handler experience</li>\n <li>Completion of a full military handler course</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies</li>\n <li>A minimum of 8 or more years of service in any military branch</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>BENEFITS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Medical, dental, vision, basic life, AD&D, and disability insurance</li>\n <li>401(k) plan, subject to eligibility requirements</li>\n <li>Paid time off offered at an accrual rate of 4.923 hours bi-weekly</li>\n <li>Eight paid holidays</li>\n <li>Employee Assistance Program</li>\n <li>Employee discounts through our perks program to your favorite restaurants, entertainment venues and much more…</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Pay $80K to $82K per year </p>\n<h2>Closing</h2>\n<p>Allied Universal® is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
