    "description": "<h2>Department Overview</h2>\n<p>The purpose of this position is to function as a member of the Rehabilitation services patient care team by providing physical therapy services such as exercise, gait training, patient/family education and various other physical modalities to assist patients in improving strength, endurance, mobility, flexibility and decreasing pain. Therapists evaluate each appropriately referred patient, establish treatment goals and objectives, develop and implement the physical therapy treatment plan. Therapists are expected to supervise therapy interns, assist with other educational research activities conducted by the department or the hospital and meet hospital standards regarding documentation and productivity. This position may include weekend shift rotation.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em>This position requires availability of 4 shifts per 2 week pay period, with 2 of those shifts on weekends, as determined according to the Employer's needs.</em></strong></p>\n<h2>Function/Duties of Position</h2>\n<p><strong>Evaluation and Caseload Management</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prioritizes patients care needs given medical necessity, discharge plan, medical stability and appropriateness to participate in rehabilitation </li>\n <li>Evaluates patients to determine appropriateness of referral</li>\n <li>Identifies rehab potential, establishes treatment goals specific to the scope of acute care rehabilitation, including functional outcomes, quantitative measures and target dates </li>\n <li>Develops treatment plans to achieve identified goals</li>\n <li>Documents evaluations in patient’s medical record in compliance with DNV, OHSU, OAR’s and third-party payer criteria</li>\n <li>Enters accurate codes for services performed and bills time in patient care accurately</li>\n <li>Provides consultation in a time-efficient manner for patients, specific to care area; requesting orders and/or providing guidance to the patient’s team regarding activity or prevention of complications</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Provides skilled rehabilitation treatment</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prioritizes care needs given medical necessity, discharge plan, medical stability and appropriateness to participate in rehabilitation</li>\n <li>Performs and documents skilled patient care activities, including direct treatment and caregiver/patient/family education</li>\n <li>Monitors and adjusts treatment plans specific to patient progress </li>\n <li>Communicates patient needs and promotes carryover of strategies, precautions, etc. with nursing and other caregivers</li>\n <li>Updates recommendations to team regarding continuing rehabilitation needs and plan as patient’s condition and situations warrant</li>\n <li>Directs, supports and provides supervision as required for PTAs, aides and volunteers </li>\n <li>Develops and enhances patient care program and patient outcomes in specialty area</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Clinical Education</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provides evidence-based clinical instruction experiences and supervision for PT and PTA students</li>\n <li>Ensure student completion of weekly goals; identifies and facilitates achievement of affiliation objectives</li>\n <li>Provides regular feedback and completes evaluations on schedule</li>\n <li>Participates in the supervision and training for students from other disciplines</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Care Coordination</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborates with patient, family, and medical team in multidisciplinary patient rounds, ensuring a common level of understanding of the patient’s rehabilitation needs, and providing recommendations for rehab after discharge</li>\n <li>Requests patient/family conferences as appropriate, and participates in conferences representing department, heightens awareness of and advocates for rehab needs of patient</li>\n <li>Enhances patient safety both during and after hospitalization by assisting the team in problem-solving</li>\n <li>Provides feedback and educates physicians, fellows, residents, and other health care providers about rehabilitation</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>A license with the Oregon Physical Therapist Licensing Board as a Physical Therapist; <strong>OR</strong></p><p> </p></li>\n <li><p>Completed an accredited physical therapy educational program and be eligible to obtain an Oregon Physical Therapy license or temporary permit.</p>\n  <ul>\n   <li><p>At the time of appointment must have at least a temporary permit</p></li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>BLS from AHA required.
