    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a Rehabilitation Registered Nurse to join the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit Part Time Day Shift. &nbsp;This is an acute, inpatient rehab unit providing care to patients with spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries, post-cerebral vascular accidents, transplant, stroke and more.</p><p><strong>Work schedule:&nbsp;</strong>12 hour shifts (7 am - 7pm)</p><p><strong>Inova Mount Vernon Hospital</strong> is a Magnet recognized 237-bed hospital offering patients convenience and state-of-the-art care in a community environment. Our hospital sits on 26 acres of beautifully landscaped open space, where patients can find moments of serenity in our specially designed gardens. Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is home to the nationally recognized Inova Joint Replacement Center and Inova Rehabilitation Center. It also is the administrative and clinical home for the Inova Wound Healing Center, the regions’ largest and most experienced.</p><p>Inova is consistently ranked a national healthcare leader in safety, quality and patient experience.&nbsp;We are also proud to be consistently recognized as a top employer in both the D.C. metro area and the nation.</p><p><span style=\"font-family: Aptos, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;\"><u>The Rehabilitation Registered Nurse</u> achieves desired patient outcomes using an integrated approach and applying rehabilitation regulatory and payer requirements in clinical practice as appropriate. Ensures improvements in practice settings by providing direction and guidance to others regarding practice and serving as a resource, preceptor and mentor. Successfully makes decisions and solves problems while providing knowledgeable caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patients, families, nurses and healthcare delivery teams</span></span></p><p><strong>Registered Nurse Job Responsibilities:</strong>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Performs patient assessments to collect basic data. Follows written plans of care, standards and practice guidelines while utilizing pathways under the supervision of an experienced RN. Utilizes assessment data and patient preferences to identify patient care needs.</li><li>Organizes, prioritizes and delivers patient care to assigned patients by utilizing Inova's Nursing Professional Practice Model and Care Delivery Model (i.e. procedures, therapies, tests and patient education) to achieve desired outcomes. Monitors patients' progress toward expected outcomes and adjusts plans of care accordingly.</li><li>Provides compassionate and empathetic hands-on care while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.</li><li>States rationale for clinical decisions based on educational knowledge, principles and evidence-based practices.</li><li>Works efficiently within the healthcare team to achieve maximum productivity and identified outcomes.</li><li>Accurately documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and seeks assistance from others to further develop documentation skills.</li><li>Participates in multidisciplinary rounds and meetings as an active member of the healthcare team.</li><li>Successfully integrates novice nursing abilities with new knowledge and the capacity to incorporate and transfer these skills into the delivery of safe/high quality patient care. Identifies and seeks out members of the healthcare team as a resource to increase practice/knowledge while seeking validation of clinical decisions from unit resources. Showcases openness to feedback, mentoring and suggestions from colleagues to implement change and enhance care.</li><li>Attends and participates in all learning sessions assigned for successful completion of the Registered Nurse (RN) Fellowship. Completes all assignments (e.g. classroom work, computer-based learning modules, laboratory simulations and assigned readings on time and is able to recall, comprehend and apply them in the classroom and clinical settings). Demonstrates a willingness to learn new skills, verbalize reasoning and demonstrate use of equipment and supplies involved in providing safe/high quality and effective patient care.</li><li>May serve as a preceptor following appropriate orientation and competency completion.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Registered Nurse Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Education:&nbsp;</strong>BSN from an accredited school of nursing If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date&nbsp;</li><li><strong>Experience</strong>:&nbsp;A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience. This position will consider RN's with LTC, Rehab, Home Health and Outpatient experience</li><li><strong>Certification:&nbsp;</strong>Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license.&nbsp;BLS from American Heart Association (AHA)</li></ul><p><strong>RN Rehab Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>prior Inpatient or sub-acute Rehabilitation nursing or Medical/Surgical; Med/Surg Tele unit experience.&nbsp;</li></ul>",
