We promote an inclusive environment which encourages continuous learning and the chance to grow and develop.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Company URL:  https://www.acadiainsurance.com/</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>The<strong> Senior Underwriter </strong>builds dynamic relationships, maintains a strong distribution channel, drives written premium growth, and maximizes renewal retention while delivering a high degree of customer satisfaction within our footprint of Independent Agencies. </p>\n<p> Key functions will include but are not limited to: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strengthens relationships and educates agents within agency plan to maximize opportunities and achieve profitable growth.</li>\n <li>Achieves new business premium, renewal premium retention and rate change objectives.</li>\n <li>Within company guidelines and granted underwriting authority, evaluates new and renewal information to determines risk acceptability terms/conditions to be quoted, and priced.</li>\n <li>Utilizes various underwriting tools to: determine acceptable risk characteristics; determine accurate exposure classifications; set adequate property limits to accomplish appropriate insurance to value and rate and quote business to agents.</li>\n <li>Orders and reviews inspections to confirm accounts written are consistent with preliminary underwriting information and acts when the inspection reveals unacceptable risk characteristics.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining positive relationships.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication skills, including listening for solutions.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates a willingness to collaborate with colleagues and present in a way that influences others.</li>\n <li>An ability to think analytically about business problems, make recommendations and propose solutions.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High energy self-starter, who is resilient and has an entrepreneurial spirit.</li>\n <li>Ability to sell and influence others.</li>\n <li>Goal-oriented achiever who delivers results.</li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of computer programs in a windows environment, including Word, Excel and Email is mandatory.</li>\n <li>Prior experience working with on-line underwriting tools is preferred (e.g., Silver Plume, and Reference Connect).</li>\n <li>Advanced professional insurance coursework (i.e., CPCU or AU) or completion of other insurance related classes is preferred.</li>\n <li>BA/BS degree preferred.</li>\n <li>5+ years of experience working as an Underwriter in Commercial Property & Casualty</li>\n <li>Ability to travel in assigned territory </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>The Company is an equal employment opportunity employer. </strong></p>\n<h2>Additional Company Details</h2>We do not accept unsolicited resumes from third party recruiting agencies or firms.
