JOB TITLE: PSYCHIATRIC MENTAL HEALTH NURSE PRACTITIONER (PMHNP)
LOCATION: Full Remote
FLSA: .6 FTE , Exempt (expectation to work 24 hours per week) *Required to be on-call each day from end of shift to beginning of next shift daily. - Additional on-call pay included
SUPERVISOR: Practice Manager
PAY GRADE: B24 Psychiatrist ($132,840 - $216,540 annually, depending on experience)
OR
N17 PMHNP I ($89,640 - $109,260 annually, depending on experience)
N18 PMHNP II ($98,580 - $120,480 annually, depending on experience)
N19 PMHNP III ($108,480 - $132,840 annually, depending on experience)

DESCRIPTION
Provides psychiatric diagnosis, care and treatment on an in-patient and telepsychiatry basis and/or in person to improve the mental health of clients. Promotes recovery from mental illness.

This position is supervised by the Practice Manager, but also works closely with the Community Counseling Solutions (CCS) Medical Director
Supervision Exercised
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Completes psychiatric evaluations as required on new clients. Reevaluates and updates as needed. Performs age-appropriate history and physical for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill perioperative patients. Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s age-specific needs. Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities. Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability, including but not limited to serving in the first assisting role. Monitors the effectiveness of interventions. Facilitates the patient’s transition within and between health care settings, e.g. admitting, transferring and discharging patients. Reviews and evaluates clinical data pertaining to physical status of client. Reviews and follows up on previous mental and physical treatment plans. Leads prescribed individual, group therapy and/or education sessions as part of specific therapeutic procedures. Reviews, approves and signs individual plans of service of clients. Documents and updates client’s progress in progress notes. Prescribes client medication. Monitors medication effectiveness and modifies as necessary. Works with team members, including clinicians, nurses and social workers to discuss client progress and outlook. Coordinates with outside agencies as necessary. Act as a client advocate when appropriate. Contacts client’s relatives to arrange family conferences if necessary. Provides seclusion and restraint, de-escalation, and other facility related trainings to CCS employees. Provides after hours services during regularly scheduled work week. This includes telephone consultation as needed with CCS employees and crisis intervention in the community and facility. Responsible to work closely with supervisor to find back up when on vacation. Completes all paperwork in a way that is professional, clinically sound and timely as prescribed by the OAR’s and other pertinent guidelines. Other duties as assigned.
