Description

Description HeartShare St. Vincent’s Services (HSVS) Enhanced Family Foster Care (EFFC) program seeks a Unit Supervisor for its Brooklyn location office to build and lead a strong team that provides and coordinates excellent quality care, and healing to children, and ensures that every one of the children on the caseload is living a nurturing, safe, and permanent family as quickly as possible. The Unit Supervisor will be under the direction of the Director of Foster Care. Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Position: Provides coaching and support to staff to reinforce quality case practice. Responsible for completing and submitting staff evaluations; resolve and address staff issues; participate in hiring, disciplinary actions. Provides formal and informal supportive, programmatic and clinical supervision to each team member; holds formal individual supervision weekly and team meetings on a monthly basis. Holds staff accountable for strong performance. Ensures appropriate record-keeping including supervisory records. Responds to case emergencies (after hours when necessary). Must have excellent customer service skills. Must be able to collaborate across programs. Ensure the safety and well-being of children. When necessary, conduct home visits, school visits, and attend court hearings. Attend internal and external training and apply newly gained knowledge in providing service. Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies to ensure 24/7 emergency coverage for families. Must uphold the agency Mission and Values at all times. Review all Progress Notes, Court Reports, correspondence and other documentation, ensuring quality and timely submission. Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate submission of all forms and documents required by ACS and NYF. Ensures adherence to all city and state mandates, including documentation of necessary contacts by Case Planner. Facilitates family team conferences as a back-up. Performs all other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Qualifications Master's degree required . Experience in child welfare/case management strongly preferred . Must have a minimum of two to five years of supervisory and/or managerial experience in a relevant field. Familiarity with Administration for Children Services (ACS), Office of Children Family Services (OCFS), Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD), and other relevant municipal and state agencies preferred . Must maintain a broad knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and methodology of social work as acquired through professional experience. Ability to teach, train, and coach team members. Ability to work flexible hours - some evenings to support staff needs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work under stress or in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions; knowledge of Microsoft Word and Connection highly preferred . Driver’s license is preferred (Note: selected candidates will be required to complete a safety training course prior to use of an agency vehicle. The Unit Supervisor will be under the direction of the Director of Foster Care.\\r\\n\\r\\nPrimary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Position:\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\tProvides coaching and support to staff to reinforce quality case practice.&nbsp;\\r\\n\\tResponsible for completing and submitting staff evaluations; resolve and address staff issues; participate in hiring, disciplinary actions.\\r\\n\\tProvides formal and informal supportive, programmatic and clinical supervision to each team member; holds formal individual supervision weekly and team meetings on a monthly basis.\\r\\n\\tHolds staff accountable for strong performance.\\r\\n\\tEnsures appropriate record-keeping including supervisory records.\\r\\n\\tResponds to case emergencies (after hours when necessary).\\r\\n\\tMust have excellent customer service skills.\\r\\n\\tMust be able to collaborate across programs.\\r\\n\\tEnsure the safety and well-being of children.\\r\\n\\tWhen necessary, conduct home visits, school visits, and attend court hearings.\\r\\n\\tAttend internal and external training and apply newly gained knowledge in providing service.\\r\\n\\tParticipate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies to ensure 24/7 emergency coverage for families.\\r\\n\\tMust uphold the agency Mission and Values at all times.\\r\\n\\tReview all Progress Notes, Court Reports, correspondence and other documentation, ensuring quality and timely submission.\\r\\n\\tResponsible for ensuring the timely and accurate submission of all forms and documents required by ACS and NYF.
