Fisheries & Aquatics Technician II Whitehorse, YT - 6 Month Fixed-Term Role - Full-Time As an Fisheries Technician II, you will be responsible for for supporting the delivery of aquatics-related services for clients and Ensero projects. This data collection will include field sampling, data entry, data management, equipment maintenance and related office tasks. Ensero has offices in Canada (Saskatoon, Vancouver and Whitehorse) and the US (Denver), and is well established as an innovative leader in regulatory, environmental management, water treatment, remediation technologies, and facility operations. Key Responsibilities Conduct fieldwork, environmental sampling, and site assessments at various project locations Supports the delivery of aquatics-related services for clients, including working with other team members to collect, manage and interpret data for use in supporting environmental assessment and regulatory applications and application review processes. Analyzes and interprets environmental data, including direct experience with water quality, benthic invertebrates, fish, sediment, and periphyton. Conducts summary reporting and technical reporting for internal and external (e.g. regulatory applications) requirements and generally supports the development of environmental assessment and regulatory applications. Collects environmental data, including the sampling of various media (surface water, benthic invertebrates, fish, periphyton, groundwater, soil/sediment, atmosphere, etc.), including maintaining custody of environmental samples and installing and/or maintaining monitoring instrumentation. Remote field sampling and environmental data collection. Environmental sampling and preparation of shipments to labs. Provide technical input to projects within your area(s) of expertise. Other duties as required. About You Bachelor’s Degree, Technical Diploma or equivalent 1-3 years of previous experience in fisheries or aquatics field work. Ability to work effectively with team members as well as independently Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other business software Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently or as part of a team Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders Working Conditions Ability to lift a minimum of 15 pounds Site travel will be required with some weekend work
