Working with a level of ambiguity and cross-collaboration is core to everything we do. Whether you’re developing a backend service that streamlines financial transactions, or creating APIs that help engineers interact with advanced technical equipment, your work will improve efficiency and clarity across the business.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop Python and applications that power our enterprise infrastructure.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams across time zones to support both internal and external users.</li>\n <li>Build scalable systems that bridge high-level business logic with time-series production data and hardware.</li>\n <li>Tackle diverse technical challenges—from optimizing engineering workflows to integrating with modern manufacturing equipment.</li>\n <li>Contribute to a modern tech stack in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment.</li>\n <li>This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of software, aviation, and global collaboration—where your code quite literally helps get things off the ground.</li>\n</ul>\n<p></p>\n<h2>Required</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>A degree in (business) informatics, computer science, or a related technical field.</li>\n <li>5+ Years of software engineering experience</li>\n <li>Advanced, hands-on experience with Python.</li>\n <li>Solid understanding and practical use of Docker—you know how to containerize like a pro.</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and how to build clean, scalable web services.</li>\n <li>Deep experience with event-driven architecture—ideally using tools like Kafka to keep systems talking smoothly</li>\n</ul>\n<p></p>\n<h2>Desired</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Working proficiency with GitHub-based CI/CD workflows</li>\n <li>Proficient in databases such as PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB</li>\n <li>Familiarity with various file systems or cloud storage platforms</li>\n <li>Comfortable working independently in globally distributed teams</li>\n <li>Experienced in agile development and fast-paced project environments</li>\n <li>Background in production or manufacturing settings is a big plus</li>\n <li>Experience with AI based development workflows</li>\n</ul>\n<p></p>\n<h2>Additional Information</h2>\n<p>Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
