Position Summary
Plan, lay out, and perform all bench and machine operations to construct, alter, and repair intricately constructed J&F/T&D using a high degree of skill and an extensive knowledge of tooling practices
Key Responsibilities
Work from blueprints, drawings, specifications, and sketches. Use a wide variety of precision instruments for exacting measurements
Design and create or modify Jig & Fixture holding devices and tools, for use as work aids
Work with engineering personnel to discuss design proposals for approval
Assemble, repair and rework a variety of standard and non-standard J&F/T&D related tooling to required dimensions
Responsible for order requests of required materials need for daily tasks
Proficient with AutoCAD
Inspect and test J&F/T&D to ensure they function properly and meet quality specifications
Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts using precision measuring tools
Perform precision machining operations and machine set-ups
Fabricate prototypes using lathes, milling machines and CNC equipment
Understands heat treating to achieve required hardness
Maintain machining centers and perform routine PM
Produce quality and dimensional accuracy on assigned work
Self-directed and works with little or no supervision
Performs other duties as assigned by management
Communicate effectively with all fellow employees for follow-through on jobs
Treat fellow employees with dignity and respect
Maintain an organized and clean work area
Use proper safety procedures
Essential Skills, Education, and Experience:
Technical School degree in Machine Tooling Technics or related experience in the field
CNC operator
1-3 years of experience in Tool Room work
Exceptional math skills
Communicating effectively with others
Good problem-solving skills
Good interpersonal skills
Teaches others
Good attendance record
Flexible to accommodate overtime needs that arise.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 35lbs
Must be able to walk/stand at least 75% of the time
Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards. Report any work-related injury, illness, incident or hazard. Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures and regulations. Use appropriate personal protective equipment. Promote interdependence by looking out for one another. Correct hazards within your control and capabilities. Recognize how your work may impact the environment and work to minimize the negative impact. Engage in HSE Training. Quality Applies high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship. Support equipment uptime and downtime failure analysis. Performs work in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and specifications using various tools, measuring and testing instruments . Follows all process documentation and quality procedures. Raises issues to minimize cost and quality exposures. Performs quality inspections. Delivery Ability to run all tool room equipment including Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machines, lathes, grinders, milling machines, drill presses and shapers. Ability to use measuring devices, layout work and set up of tool room machines to build or fabricate details and assemble as needed. Repairs and maintains manufacturing equipment . Performs and documents preventive, emergency, corrective and predictive maintenance activities. Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks. Identify and reduce manufacturing constraints Schedule maintenance activities around production requirements Solve problems and improve processes Participate in continuous improvement activities Teamwork Communicates effectively with the assigned team and with all support teams. Completes training and personal development in line with business requirements. Participates actively with local Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams in ways to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.
Qualifications
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
