          "text": "<p><b><u><span>CORE DUTIES*:</span></u></b><span></span></p><p><span><span>·<span>         </span></span></span><span>Act as the conceptual source SME for cloud end-to-end architecture solutions involving innovative system design, including AWS and future providers, networking, provisioning, and management</span><span></span></p><p><span><span>·<span>         </span></span></span><span>Design, develop, install, configure, administer, and maintain highly scalable available elastic solutions that implement industry best practices using cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.</span><span></span></p><p><span><span>·<span>         </span></span></span><span>Provide support and technical governance, expertise related to cloud architectures, deployment, and operations</span><span></span></p><p><span><span>·<span>         </span></span></span><span>Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, capacity planning and management, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment</span><span></span></p><p><span><span>·<span>         </span></span></span><span>Troubleshoot highly complex problems for which the analysis and resolution require extensive knowledge of many diverse system components</span><span></span></p><p><span><span>·<span>         </span></span></span><span>Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners</span><span></span></p><p><span><span>·<span>         </span></span></span><span>Design highly secure systems that meet or exceed Stanford’s security requirements</span><span></span></p><p><span><span>·<span>         </span></span></span><span>Develop a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns, based on the Stanford application portfolio, as a basis for deploying services to cloud</span><span></span></p><p><span><span>·<span>         </span></span></span><span>Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public, and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services</span><span></span></p><p><span><span>·<span>         </span></span></span><span>Enhances, evangelizes, and contributes to DevOps development principles, activities and complex development tasks (infrastructure as code, continuous integration and delivery, and designing for failure)</span><span></span></p><p><span><span>·<span>         </span></span></span><span>Ensure critical applications are designed and optimized for high availability and disaster recovery</span><span></span></p><p><span><span>·<span>         </span></span></span><span>Develop long-range technology plans.</span><span></span></p><p><span><span>·<span>         </span></span></span><span>Provide project management, coordination, and programming for IT project having a significant impact.</span><span></span></p><p><span><span>·<span>         </span></span></span><span>Provide leadership and IT solutions for complex problems involving the cloud portfolio.     </span><span></span></p><p><span><span>·<span>         </span></span></span><span>Identify applicable new technologies through research, collaboration with peers, and participation in standards organizations, industry groups, panels, etc.</span><span></span></p><p><span><span>·<span>         </span></span></span><span>May work on University-wide task forces and committees related to strategic planning efforts for information technologies.</span><span></span></p>",
