Overview
This Product Manager will be passionate about the Planet Fitness member’s workout and wellness experience and building out digital experiences that support a member’s health and wellness outcomes, such as supporting the member’s in-club workout experience through technology, as well as driving revenue and retention through our digital fitness features. The Product Manager will be charged with leading high performing cross-functional development teams, focusing on achieving aggressive growth goals for member engagement and retention.
This role follows a hybrid schedule and requires regular, in-person work at our Hampton, NH or future Boston, MA office. Our hybrid model is M/T/W in office and TH/F are optional work-from-home. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of our office. Fully remote work is not available for this role.
Responsibilities
Manage the strategy and development of Workout and Wellness Experience Workstream product development within the product roadmap.
Manage the product development process from end to end: opportunity identification, feature prioritization, requirements gathering, design, development and launch of new features.
For each project, perform upfront discovery and research, provide clear product requirements, participate in ongoing project routines (standups, sprint planning, refinements, retros with the working development team), sign-offs, lead business reviews to confirm launch readiness.
Develop a deep understanding of our customers, their needs, their journeys, and their pain points. Manage research and testing, e.g. surveys, concept testing, clickstream data, and A/B testing. Transform insights into opportunity hypotheses and product requirements.
Be a champion of the MVP philosophy, distilling the product down to what is desirable, viable and feasible.
Work with cross-functional stakeholders to surface feedback and opportunities for new projects and features and prioritize these requests in accordance with level of effort and business value. Evaluates opportunities and develop business cases.
Collaborate with Strategy and analytics teams to decide on KPIs for new features. Forecasts, measures, and monitors business metrics and KPIs. Track impact on acquisition, engagement, and retention.
Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, and nearly all parts of the company to ensure our digital products are launched successfully.
Create efficiencies and speed to market in the product development process, working closely with other product managers, tech leads, UX designers, and other key members of their POD teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, business management, or a related field, required
At least 3 years of experience in product management, and 5+ years of total work experience. Other product development or product marketing experience also valuable, particularly with demonstrated product ownership
Demonstrated passion for building products and services that customers will love
Working knowledge of agile development methodologies and how highly scaled digital/mobile products come together
Entrepreneurial spirit; must have demonstrated the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, creative problem-solving and initiative. Experience in an “Intra-preneurial” role a plus: taking products from inception to launch within a larger organization
Strong initiative, bias for action, and reflexive sense of ownership. Highly self‐motivated and independent
Excellent collaboration skills and stakeholder management including managing up to executive leadership. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence without formal authority. Ability to work well with agency partners, cross functional partners and internal and external stakeholders

Familiarity with agile project management tools like Jira, Confluence, Figma
Excellent organization and time management, and comfort managing aggressive deadlines
Strong technical intuition. Technical background a plus. Familiarity with web and app development tech stack
