We are currently looking for responsible, reliable and knowledgeable referees to officiate our sports leagues in Niagara. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating and officiating sports leagues. We are looking for referees to officiate Court Volleyball &amp; Cornhole. <br>  </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Engaging with players each and every shift to ensure they are having the best possible experience before, during, and after games</li>\n<li>Establishing a relationship with vendors, facilities, and the community to support our growing brand</li>\n<li>Arriving at the venue location prior to game times to meet with the facility caretaker and/or venue staff</li>\n<li>Setting up equipment for the sport that will be played that evening</li>\n<li>Managing the venue throughout the course of the night to ensure that our players enter &amp; exit the building at the appropriate times and through the appropriate doors </li>\n<li>Ensuring that all rules of the game are being followed by all players </li>\n<li>Explaining the rules to all players as needed and ensuring that all participants understand game expectations </li>\n<li>Maintaining standards of play and ensuring all players are conducting themselves appropriately during game play </li>\n<li>Signaling participants to make them aware of infractions to otherwise regulate play or competition</li>\n<li>Resolving claims of rule infractions on site and assess any necessary penalties according to game rules</li>\n<li>Inspecting sporting equipment and/or examining participants in order to ensure compliance with event and safety regulations</li>\n<li>Keeping track of game times and start/stop play when necessary </li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Must have comprehensive knowledge of all volleyball rules and be able to confidently referee beginner, intermediate, and competitive-level volleyball matches.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">QUALIFICATIONS </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">High Energy  </span></p>\n<p>Extremely upbeat and positive, with their own flair and personality! <br>Willingness to approach and chat with players and maintain this positive relationship over the course of the season.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Details, Details, Details  </span></p>\n<p>Taking care of the little details first makes putting on a big show easy! <br>Must have incredible attention to detail and be a quick learner!  </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Go Getter  </span></p>\n<p>Be confident and motivated to call on and/or meet/work/deal with players, head office staff, and facility staff. <br>Hardworking attitude. You are known for taking initiative. </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Think Outside the Box Mentality  </span></p>\n<p>We’re not looking for mediocre and old-school here. We want someone who has fresh ideas, can work on their own without being micromanaged, and is good at developing and maintaining relationships.   </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Perfectly Seasoned  </span></p>\n<p>We are looking for someone who has past experience with planning events on every level. Someone who is able to clearly represent JAM to prospective businesses, while adopting our laid back yet professional attitude.   </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Well Spoken &amp; Written  </span></p>\n<p>It goes without saying, but we’ll say it anyway. You’ll need to have strong self-monitoring skills and strong public speaking skills. <br>You will need to be able to clearly articulate and summarize your shifts in writing through a shift report that is expected to be submitted online after each and every shift. <br>Knowledge of a wide variety of sports rules and formats is an asset! </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Quick On Your Feet  </span></p>\n<p>Confidence in your ability to take control of a situation with a flair for being resourceful. <br>Strengths in planning, decision making, and creative problem solving. </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">EXPECTED HOURS </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our leagues run Monday to Friday from roughly 5:30 pm until 11:00pm  </li>\n<li>Shift times are typically between 3 to 6 hours long depending on the venue.</li>\n<li>Hours will vary depending on your availability, but preferences will be given to those who are committed to working consistent shifts on multiple evenings.</li>\n<li>Responsibilities/times/locations all vary depending on your availability. <br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">COMPENSATION </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>All of our League Referees earn $17.60 CAD per hour</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Base Rate = $17.60 CAD</li>\n<li>After 50 Shifts = $18 CAD</li>\n<li>After 100 Shifts = $19 CAD</li>\n<li>After 200 Shifts = $20 CAD</li>\n<li>After 300 Shifts = $21 CAD<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>League Referees have the opportunity to participate in all of our tournaments at no charge (please note: that to be eligible to play in a tournament for free you must have a regular shift in the current season).</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Part-Time Staff League Play Credit Program </span>-  This program recognizes your commitment and rewards you with quarterly league credits once you hit key shift milestones that can be used towards JAM league play. </p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>After 25 Shifts Completed - $100 credit</li>\n<li>After 50 Shifts Completed - $150 credit</li>\n<li>After 100 Shifts Completed - $200 credit</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>For more information about JAM, please visit <a href=\"https://jamgroup.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https://jamgroup.com</a></p>\n<p> <br>We are accepting applications on an ongoing basis for this role.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>JAM Is For Everyone. </em></span><br><em>We at JAM are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment and are pleased to be an equal opportunity employer.
