In a SaaS context, this means ensuring accurate revenue recognition, managing audits, overseeing tax filings, and delivering reliable financial statements on time. The Finance Director safeguards the company’s fiscal operations while also building scalable processes as the business grows. Their North Star metrics revolve around accuracy, speed, and control, such as the number of days to close the books, audit readiness (including clean audit reports), and precision in revenue recognition for subscription revenue.
