    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p><br></p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">The design lead oversees the design team in successfully planning, executing, and delivering primarily large-scale projects.&nbsp;</span></p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\"><strong>Responsibilities include:</strong></span></p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">&bull; Act as the primary design engineer of record and project lead for projects congruent with experience.</span></p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">&bull; Provide regularly scheduled project reviews to review design progress, schedule, outstanding issues, etc. to</span></p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">provide guidance and support to design staff.</span></p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">&bull; Sign and seal plan sets as appropriate for level of involvement in the project.</span></p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">&bull; Create or direct schematic design layouts and establish initial design direction.</span></p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">&bull; Plan out project tasks, priorities, timelines, and delegate tasks to project engineers and designers.</span></p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">&bull; Perform QA/QC of delegated tasks.</span></p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">&bull; Provide technical support and develop expertise of project engineers as necessary.</span></p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">&bull; Communicate and coordinate with and between clients and design teams.</span></p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">&bull; Provide design team assistance with complex RFIs and CA issues.</span></p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">&bull; Provide guidance and/or generate Program of Requirements and Master Plans.</span></p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">&bull; Help develop additional augmentation procedures and integration.</span></p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">&bull; Generate proposals as necessary.</span></p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">&bull; Meet deadlines.</span></p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">&bull; Mentor staff on engineering design and project delivery.</span></p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">&bull; Other duties as assigned and necessary.</span></p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 8px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\"><strong>Education/ Experience:</strong></span></p><ul><li><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Required: Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering&nbsp;</span><ul><li><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Preferred: Master&#39;s degree in Structural Engineering</span></li></ul></li><li><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">5-10 years of engineering experience with project management experience</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Experience in the use of various structural design codes and specifications including but not limited to IBC, IRC, ASCE 7, ACI, PCI, AISC, NDS, and TMS</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Experience in design and detailing of various construction materials, including steel, cold formed metal framing, conventional and post-tensioned concrete, concrete masonry, and conventional and engineered wood</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Experience in the design and analysis of building structures</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Experience in the development of comprehensive construction documents</span></li></ul><p style=\"margin-bottom: 8px;\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\"><strong>Skills and special requirements/licensing:</strong></span></p><ul><li><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Registered P.E. in the state of Texas</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Bluebeam, Autodesk REVIT, RISA, or RAM Structural System experience is a plus.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Being solutions-minded and self-initiating</span></li></ul><p style='margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;margin-left:0in;line-height:115%;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Aptos\",sans-serif;' data-pasted=\"true\"><span style='font-family:\"Calibri\",sans-serif;'><u>Gessner Engineering does not sponsor employment visas (e.g., H-1B, OPT, CPT, TN, or similar) at this time.</u></span></p><p><em>Gessner Engineering is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected status or characteristic.
