Overview
Advanced Drainage Systems is a leading manufacturer of stormwater and onsite septic wastewater solutions, committed to sustainability and innovation. Responsibilities
The Blow Line Operator is responsible for running all machines utilized in the production of PVC fittings and components in the Blow Line department. The Blow Line Operator will specifically run three pieces of equipment in simultaneously order starting with the PVC heater, then the Blow mold, and finally the Finishing Saw. Daily communication regarding machine performance must be communicated to the Blow Line Lead. Machine inspection is performed for accurate setup and performance safety. All product quality is the sole responsibility of the operator and must be communicated to the Quality Manager and/or the Blow Line Lead. Ultimate goal is to produce high quality parts with minimum downtime in the most safe and economical manner. The Blow Line Operator must be flexible to work 40+ hours per week. The Blow Line Operator reports directly to the Blow Line Lead.
Job Responsibilities:
The tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the Blow Line Operator include, but are not limited to:
Notify Lead of any shortages in consumable items required for departmental operation
Maintain accurate production records such that all raw material used and all finished goods produced in the department are accurately reported
Ensure safe operations of all machines
Clean work area daily and remove any unused tooling improperly stored in the work zone
Help identify incorrect raw material quantities in an effort to reduce production run shortages/overages
Proper set up and maintenance of equipment used in the department including safety inspection signoff forms
Seek improvements in production efficiencies
Remove full crate quantity of product out of production area properly labeled as to product and quantity
Monitor the quality of products produced and ensure that all initial products are approved by the Quality Manager.
Understand and practice ADS CORE VALUES
Job Skills:
The Blow Line Operator should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Knowledge of Blow Mold machines
Ability to communicate at different levels within the organization
Ability to lift product up to 40 pounds
Ability to stand for long periods of time in a hot environment
Mechanically inclined
Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision
Work well under stress and pressure of a fast paced production environment
Attention to detail
Mathematical skills
Able to work in a mechanical environment with hand tools and power tools.
Educational Requirements:
High School education or equivalent. Some course work at a Technical School with a focus on industrial applications is a plus.
Preferred Experience:
Manufacturing experience in a production/shop floor environment
Blow Mold experience a plus
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift a maximum of 100 lbs
Ability to perform labor in extreme temperatures and temperature changes for long periods of time
Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
Position requires full range of body movement including lifting, twisting, bending, reaching, pulling and pushing
Ability to mount and dismount industrial equipment
