The Dean is charged with advancing the library&rsquo;s role as a dynamic academic, technological, and cultural hub that supports the learning, teaching, and research mission of the University.</p><p style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'><br></p><p style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\" style=\"margin-bottom:0in;\"><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'>Provide strategic leadership and executive oversight of all functions of the Wilder Library and its learning resource services, including collections, reference services, information literacy, academic support technologies, and archives.</li><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'>Develop and execute a long-term vision for the library that aligns with the University&#39;s mission, academic priorities, and strategic plan.</li><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'>Foster a student-centered, inclusive, and technologically advanced learning environment that supports student success, faculty research, and community engagement.</li><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'>Collaborate with academic leadership, faculty, IT, and other departments to promote integration of library resources in curriculum development and instructional delivery.</li><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'>Lead and manage a team of professional librarians, staff, and student employees, promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.</li><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'>Oversee budget development, fiscal management, and resource allocation to ensure efficient and equitable operations.</li><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'>Ensure compliance with national accreditation standards and best practices in library science and higher education.</li><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'>Pursue grants, partnerships, and fundraising opportunities to enhance library resources, programming, and facilities.</li><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'>Expand access to digital resources, online databases, interlibrary loan services, and research tools that promote academic innovation.</li></ul><p style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'><br></p><p style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'><strong>Education</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\" style=\"margin-bottom:0in;\"><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'>Master&rsquo;s degree in Library Science or Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution.</li><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'>Minimum of 7&ndash;10 years of progressively responsible experience in an academic library, including 5 years of management or supervisory experience.</li><li style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'>Must be able to lift 10 pounds.</li></ul><p style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'><br></p><p style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'><strong>Application Process</strong></p><p style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'><br></p><p style='margin:0in;font-size:16px;font-family:\"Times New Roman\",serif;'>Candidates are required to submit their resume, four professional references and a cover letter.
