Deaf/Hard of Hearing Support Teacher | Full-Time | Georgia Our organization is proud to collaborate with progressive school partners to select an experienced Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Specialist for immediate hire. This full-time itinerant role provides a meaningful opportunity to work across multiple campuses, ensuring student access, inclusion, and full engagement in their learning journey. Your impact will reach far beyond academic development—supporting students in building emotional regulation, positive social connections, and essential learning habits that prepare them for long-term success. Through thoughtful data-driven instructional planning, you’ll refine strategies and interventions to promote meaningful student progress. You bring empathy, intentionality, and clear communication to your work and thrive in a collaborative, student-centered environment. Position Summary: Assist staff in adapting instruction to meet student needs. Guide best practices in accessibility and communication approaches. Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, service providers, and families. Support student academic progress, language acquisition, and development of self-advocacy skills. Promote an inclusive learning environment where DHH students feel supported, empowered, and acknowledged. Provide individualized instruction and communication support using ASL, assistive listening tools, and personalized learning strategies. Requirements Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related discipline, as well as a current Georgia Professional Educator License (PEL) with a DHH endorsement. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities are required, and proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is a significant advantage. The strongest applicants will have direct experience working with deaf or hard of hearing students in school settings, along with a thorough understanding of IEP procedures and the implementation of individualized accommodations that support student access and success in the classroom.
