The Veterinary Externship offers a 4-week program for 4th-year veterinary students (2027-2028 school year). Students will work with the Wildlife Health team to gain hands-on experience in diagnosing and treating captive wildlife. The externship covers areas like hematology, cytology, anesthesia, radiology, pathology, internal medicine, and surgery. Students will participate in physical exams, triage, diagnostics, treatments, and animal care, and attend rounds and procedures both in the hospital and on zoo grounds.",
