We are known as experts in engineering, manufacturing, and servicing innovative automated materials handling systems including conveyors, automatic guided vehicles, automated storage & retrieval systems, and integrated controls.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The company is currently seeking an experienced <strong>Mechanical Project Engineer</strong>.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Position Summary/ Primary Purpose </strong></p>\n<p>Reporting to the Engineering Program Manager, The Project Engineer Mechanical Engineering is responsible for the mechanical portion of the assigned project. This includes managing the resources, schedule, budget, and deliverables of the project. This position also leads a group three (3) to ten (10) mechanical engineers who are responsible for producing mechanical layout drawings, mechanical equipment designs, directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, and installation.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Major Areas of Responsibility</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Supervises three (3) to ten (10) Mechanical Engineers.</li>\n <li>Plans and conducts engineering projects.</li>\n <li>Acts as a liaison between other departments, divisions, companies, and customers.</li>\n <li>Works to achieve overall objectives at a minimum cost.</li>\n <li>Estimates number of employees needed and schedules work to meet completion date and technical specifications.</li>\n <li>Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.</li>\n <li>Documentation of changes to scope of work.</li>\n <li>Responsible that contract documents & specifications are followed.</li>\n <li>Perform other related duties as assigned</li>\n <li>Assist sales in generating new projects including estimating new project work</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Broad Knowledge </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.</li>\n <li>Computer Skills – Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Adobe Systems.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Skills & Abilities </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Time Management — Managing one's own time and the time of others.</li>\n <li>Service Orientation — Actively looking for ways to help people.</li>\n <li>Coordination — Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.</li>\n <li>Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.</li>\n <li>Judgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.</li>\n <li>Monitoring — Monitoring/Assessing performance of you, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.</li>\n <li>Verbal and Written Expression and Recognition — The ability to listen to, understand and communicate information and ideas presented through spoken or written words and sentences.</li>\n <li>Information Ordering — The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).</li>\n <li>Problem Sensitivity — The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.</li>\n <li>Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.</li>\n <li>Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.</li>\n <li>Inductive Reasoning — The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).</li>\n <li>Deductive Reasoning — The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.</li>\n <li>This position requires up to approximately 25% travel. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Education & Experience Required </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>BSME, BSCE, CSIE or equivalent technical degree and experience.</li>\n <li>Minimum 7 years’ experience in lead design & estimating of industrial equipment in one or more of the following fields: robotics, automation, unit handling, chain conveyor systems, electrified monorails, design or castings & forgings & manufacturing fabrication processes.</li>\n <li>Requires strong communication skills for customer/ supplier contact. </li>\n <li>Requires minimum 5 years of supervisory experience handling multiple projects. </li>\n <li>Requires knowledge of & experience using CAE equipment. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Demonstrated Physical Abilities:</strong></p>\n<p>Office - Remain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Job Site - Capability of maneuvering through an industrial conveyor system requiring climbing access ladders, negotiating screen guards and lifting and/or carrying objects up to 40 lbs.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Daifuku Airport America Corporation is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled, and federal sub/contractor.
