The supervisor will serve as a mentor, coach, and evaluator for undergraduate and/or graduate teacher candidates in their field placements. This role focuses on supporting student teachers during their Stage 3 (pre-student teaching) and Stage 4 (full student teaching) experiences, ensuring alignment with Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) standards and program goals. This is a field-based adjunct position that requires regular travel during school hours to assigned school sites.<strong>&nbsp;</strong></span></p>\n<p><span><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Observe and evaluate student teachers in their clinical settings.</span></li>\n <li><span>Provide timely, constructive, and actionable feedback on teaching performance.</span></li>\n <li><span>Conduct formal observations and complete PDE-aligned evaluation forms (e.g., PDE 430).</span></li>\n <li><span>Support mentor/cooperating teachers and student teachers in navigating the supervision process.</span></li>\n <li><span>Maintain consistent and professional communication with university faculty, mentor/cooperating teachers, and student teachers.</span></li>\n <li><span>Facilitate triad meetings and coaching conversations that promote reflection and instructional growth.</span></li>\n <li><span>Participate in orientation, calibration sessions, and supervisor meetings as required.</span></li>\n <li><span>Ensure timely submission of observation reports, evaluations, and final grades.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong>&nbsp;QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Master’s degree and Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) teaching certification required.</span></li>\n <li><span>Minimum of 5 years of successful PK-12 teaching and/or supervisory experience.</span></li>\n <li><span>PDE-approved administrative certification preferred (e.g., Principal, Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction).</span></li>\n <li><span>Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills in educational settings.</span></li>\n <li><span>Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.</span></li>\n <li><span>Ability to travel independently during school hours to local partnering districts.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:&nbsp;</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Candidates should be comfortable using digital tools for documentation and communication (e.g. Google Suite, email, video conferencing, AI).</span></li>\n <li><span>Familiarity with PA teacher evaluation tools and current instructional best practices is highly desirable.</span></li>\n <li><span>Supervisors must uphold the educational standards and expectations which include respectful engagement, creation of student-centered learning environments, accountability, inclusion, and lifelong learning.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong>TO APPLY:&nbsp;</strong>Qualified candidates should attach their cover letter, curriculum vita and statement of teaching philosophy to their online application by clicking “Apply Now”.
