The teacher is a hardworking, goal-oriented and enthusiastic professional with excellent subject knowledge and a sound understanding of the Missouri Learning Standards and Common Core State Standards.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none\">Position Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Teach knowledge and skills in physical fitness, health education, rhythms, and dance, and individual, dual, or team sports, utilizing a course of study adopted by the Board of Education and other appropriate learning activities. </span></li>\n<li><br><span>Work cooperatively with other physical education teachers in planning a balanced physical education program.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Analyze, demonstrates, and explains basic skills, knowledge, and strategies of formal sports, games rhythms, and fundamentals of body movement.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student, to the extent feasible.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Provide appropriate safety instruction and makes safety checks on equipment and field areas to ensure the overall safety of students. </span></li>\n<li><br><span>Maintain control of storage and use of the school-owned property. </span></li>\n<li><br><span>Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive environment in the physical education areas. </span></li>\n<li><br><span>Evaluate each student’s growth in physical skills, knowledge, and contribution in team sports.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district, and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Select and order uniforms, equipment, and instructional aids; maintains required inventory records.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Communicates with parents, coaches, and student progress. </span></li>\n<li><br><span>Identify student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems. </span></li>\n<li><br><span>Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.  </span></li>\n<li><br><span>Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process. </span></li>\n<li><br><span>Establish weekly objectives and Units of Study that cover the Missouri Learning Standards and Common Core State Standards.  </span></li>\n<li><br><span>Facilitate activities and projects that incorporate communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.  </span></li>\n<li><br><span>Use discipline models of BIST and Love &amp;
