    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">JOB SPECIFICATIONS:</span></p>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Must possess the ability to perform the following:</span></li>\n<li>Adhere to the treatment plan established by the Occupational Therapist.</li>\n<li>Motivate patients to participate in therapy treatment.</li>\n<li>Adhere to clinical policies and procedures in the overall delivery of patient care standards of practice.</li>\n<li>Document legibly and understandably utilizing only standard abbreviations and grammar.</li>\n<li>Communicate effectively with supervisor and staff.</li>\n<li>Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist as needed in providing patient care coverage.</li>\n<li>Organize area and schedule to ensure the maximum time is utilized to provide direct patient care and accomplish job responsibilities within the necessary time frames.</li>\n<li>Follow company facility safety policies.</li>\n<li>Willingness to work beyond normal working hours when necessary to effectively and efficiently perform duties, demonstrating commitment to organization and community.</li>\n</ol>\n<p> </p>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">QUALIFICATIONS:</span></li>\n<li>Must have completed a program of Occupational Therapy Assistant.</li>\n<li>Must hold and maintain a current and valid license by the State of Alabama Board of Occupational Therapy as a licensed Occupational Therapist Assistant.</li>\n<li>Maintain CPR certification.</li>\n<li>Must be capable of performing the job duties of this position.</li>\n<li>Must be able to relate positively and professionally to patients, families, and outside agencies and work cooperatively with co-workers.</li>\n<li>Certified by the National Board Certification of Occupational Therapy.</li>\n</ol>\n<p> </p>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: </span></li>\n<li>Perform all physical requirements of a full workday.</li>\n<li>Cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position and set a proper example of such.</li>\n<li>Must be in good general health and capable of maintaining regular attendance.</li>\n<li>Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics allowing all requirements of position be met effectively with support personnel and agencies.</li>\n<li>Must be capable of performing the essential job functions of this position with or without accommodation and be able to pass a post-employment exam, if required.</li>\n</ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: </span></p>\n<ol>\n<li>Contributes to Occupational Therapist’s effectiveness by identifying patient care issues, providing information and commentary; recommending options and courses of action; implementing Occupational Therapy directives.</li>\n<li>Assesses patient health by interviewing patients, notes diagnosis of patient and takes all precautions observing indications and contraindications.</li>\n<li>Assesses abnormal conditions by reviewing Occupational Therapists interpretations of patient evaluations and test results.</li>\n<li>Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.</li>\n<li>Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises; instruction, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical and daily living activities; and in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses; applies agents such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot packs, cold packs, ice massage as directed.</li>\n<li>Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimes, answering all questions.</li>\n<li>Checks frequently on patients during treatment period to satisfy patient needs.</li>\n<li>Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, adhering to infection control policies and protocols, returning all equipment and supplies to proper storage area.</li>\n<li>Maintains legal and accreditation compliance by adhering to policy positions concerning federal, state, and local regulations, anticipating emerging issues.</li>\n<li>Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.</li>\n<li>Enhances Occupational Therapy and hospital reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities.</li>\n<li>Maintains and orders supplies.</li>\n</ol>\n<p> </p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p> </p>",
