CarboNet specializes in clean chemistry for industrial water treatment, with a focus on innovating new polymers and chemical processes. Our engineering team is responsible for scaling up laboratory processes into full-scale production systems. We’re looking for a hands-on, energetic individual to help us bridge the gap between engineering design and daily production.
The successful candidate will be ready to learn, have a can-do attitude, strong work ethic and be keen to grow with our business. In this role, you will be the primary link between our engineering designs and the production floor. Your focus will be on the physical assembly, operation, and optimization of scale-up equipment, ensuring everything runs smoothly before being handed over to the production team. This position is perfect for someone who loves "swinging wrenches," using power tools, and learning how industrial machinery works from the inside out.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and install process equipment using a variety of hand and power tools.
Operate pilot-scale systems and conduct initial test runs to ensure process stability and manufacturability.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues during setup and provide practical feedback to engineers on equipment performance.
Document operating procedures and lead the transfer to the production department.
Assist with material coordination and inventory tracking for ongoing builds.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace to ensure efficient transitions between projects.
Qualifications
Engineering degree or diploma (chemical, mechanical or equivalent) OR equivalent hands-on experience in industrial environments.
1–3 years of experience working in a hands-on mechanical or industrial environment.
Proficiency with standard hand tools, power tools, and basic mechanical assembly.
Familiarity with CAD drawings, P&IDs, and process schematics.
Strong work ethic and a desire to learn complex industrial systems through direct operation.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Valid passport and willingness to assist with local or occasional international site visits.
Nice to Have
Experience in a chemical or manufacturing facility.
Basic understanding of fluid systems (pumps, valves, and piping).
Experience in MIG/TIG welding, pipe fitting, or basic electrical work
Familiarity with workplace safety protocols (WHMIS, LOTO).
Why Join Us?
Gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge water treatment technology in a fast-paced scale-up environment.
Work on diverse, hands-on projects from lab to field.
Clear path for growth into senior technical or commissioning roles.
Contribute meaningfully to sustainable and impactful engineering solutions.
Comprehensive benefits package including extended health, dental, and company stock options.
