Performs surgical scrub duties, maintains acceptable levels of supplies, and provides turnover of patient areas. Assists in the operating room with obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN) related surgery. Assists with patient care before and after surgery.</p>\n<p>Job Requirements:</p>\n<div>\n <p>Education and Work Experience:</p>\n <ul>\n  <li>High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required</li>\n  <li>Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred</li>\n </ul>\n</div>\n<div>\n <p>Licenses/Certifications:</p>\n <ul>\n  <li>Surgical Technician or Obstetrical Technician certification: Preferred</li>\n  <li>Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required</li>\n </ul>\n</div>\n<div>\n <p>Facility Specific License/Certifications:</p>\n <ul>\n  <li>AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required</li>\n </ul>\n</div>\n<div>\n <p>Essential Functions:</p>\n <ul>\n  <li>Assists in preparation of patient rooms. Opens sterile supplies and sets up for procedure utilizing aseptic technique, and checking integrity of sterile packaging.</li>\n  <li>Assists the surgical team during operative procedures, providing needed supplies and instruments in a timely manner. Participates in the timeout on each case.</li>\n  <li>Assist nursing staff in deliveries as directed by nurse: preparation, positioning, transports, transfer and discharge of patient.</li>\n  <li>Collects urinalysis (UA) specimens. Applies fetal monitoring equipment. Takes and records maternal vital signs, weight, height and intake &amp; output (I&amp;O) measurements.
