As part of our dynamic team, you can lead the way, as we continue our journey towards high reliability care!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We’re looking for a<strong> Clerical Support Associate </strong>to work in our <strong>11 East & West Surgical Inpatient Unit</strong> for the Surgical Program. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Employment Status:</strong> Permanent Part Time<strong>Hours of Work:</strong> Must be available for days and evenings - subject to change as per Article 3 – Management Rights.<strong>Location:</strong> Humber River Health, <strong>Hennick Humber Hospital</strong><strong>Labour Group: </strong>Teamsters Clerical<strong>Reporting Relationship: </strong>Manager, 11 East & West Surgery<strong>Hourly Rate: </strong>$29.966 - $31.016</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Responsible for clerical support including patient registration and discharge, maintenance of patient records, order entry, statistics, and assisting with patient billing.</li>\n <li>Responsible for customer service including scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, telephone inquiries, greeting patients and visitors in a courteous manner.</li>\n <li>Communicates with bed allocation and other departments to arrange patient placement.</li>\n <li>Communicates with other departments and service areas as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.</li>\n <li>Completed secretarial and medical terminology courses preferred.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of medical terminology is required.</li>\n <li>Minimum of one-year full time recent clerical experience required, preferably in an out-patient health care setting.</li>\n <li>Computer skills required, keyboarding 40 wpm required.</li>\n <li>Meditech computer experience is preferred.</li>\n <li>Community-wide scheduling experience is preferred.</li>\n <li>Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.</li>\n <li>Excellent customer service skills required.</li>\n <li>Excellent organizational skills required, including an ability to prioritize a varied and busy workload and work with tight deadlines, frequent interruptions, and emergency situations.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, as well as in a team environment.</li>\n <li>Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.</li>\n <li>An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.
