    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">TITLE:                         ELEMENTARY HOMEROOM TEACHER</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">REPORTS TO:           </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PRINCIPAL</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Primary Functions</span>:  </p>\n<p>The Elementary Homeroom Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction aligned with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and fostering the academic, social, and emotional development of elementary students. The teacher creates a supportive, engaging learning environment that promotes critical thinking, collaboration, and student achievement.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities include:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Planning, preparing, and delivering well-structured lessons aligned with Common Core State Standards in English Language Arts and Mathematics, and relevant standards in Science and Social Studies.</li>\n<li>Assessing students’ academic levels using formative and summative assessments aligned with CCSS learning objectives.</li>\n<li>Implementing instructional strategies that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, reading comprehension, writing proficiency, and mathematical reasoning.</li>\n<li>Differentiating instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those requiring intervention or enrichment.</li>\n<li>Using data from assessments to inform instruction and monitor student progress toward mastery of standards.</li>\n<li>Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports active learning and student engagement.</li>\n<li>Integrating educational technology and a variety of instructional resources to support Common Core-aligned instruction.</li>\n<li>Providing timely, meaningful feedback to students to support growth and achievement.</li>\n<li>Setting homework that reinforces Common Core skills and is appropriate to students’ abilities and workload, in accordance with school policy.</li>\n<li>Supporting students’ social and emotional development and promoting positive behavior and classroom routines.</li>\n<li>Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, assessments, and attendance.</li>\n<li>Communicating effectively with parents regarding student progress, learning goals, and classroom expectations.</li>\n<li>Participating in collaborative planning, professional development, and school-wide initiatives related to curriculum and instruction.</li>\n<li>Carrying out homeroom duties and additional responsibilities as assigned by the administration.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Requirements:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.</li>\n<li>Degree in education or a teaching certificate may be required.</li>\n<li>Experience teaching elementary grades is preferred.</li>\n<li>Strong classroom management and organizational skills.</li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.</li>\n<li>Ability to analyze student data and adjust instruction accordingly.</li>\n<li>Patience, flexibility, and a commitment to student-centered learning.</li>\n<li>Strong collaboration and professional ethics.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About American Baccalaureate School:</span></p>\n<p>ABS is a private, non­-profit school offering an American-based curriculum including a wide variety of advanced courses, and a college preparatory program, guiding students to become independent, intellectual global citizens.
