Description

Description Litfin Divinity School Marketing Specialist Job Overview Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Litfin Divinity School Marketing Specialist is a member of the Marketing Communications Department and works closely with the Dean’s office of the Litfin School. Primary responsibilities include developing and managing comprehensive and strategic marketing plans for this rapidly growing school. Newly named in August 2024, the Litfin Divinity School merges Wheaton's historic strengths in biblical and theological studies with ministry, leadership, and evangelism programs. Since its renaming, the school is already experiencing significant growth, with new programs and strategic initiatives underway. The Marketing Specialist will play a key role in building awareness and momentum during this exciting phase of expansion, with opportunities to shape creative marketing strategies and support enrollment growth across 10+ graduate programs. Work Arrangement Hybrid (on-site and remote), based in Wheaton, Illinois. Compensation This position pays $65-70,000 annually. Duties & Responsibilities Implement and evaluate strategic marketing and communication plans for prospective students, leveraging AI, data, and performance insights to optimize engagement and conversion. Build highly collaborative relationships with academic, enrollment, and web stakeholders, serving as a marketing partner and subject-matter expert in graduate enrollment communications. Lead content strategy, UX/UI design, and SEO optimization for prospective-student-facing webpages to maximize user engagement, accessibility, and search visibility. Regularly update photography, video, copy, and forms to keep web pages fresh and compelling. Plan, coordinate, and optimize digital advertising campaigns in collaboration with internal partners and external vendors—ensuring strong alignment with enrollment goals, brand voice, and funnel strategy. Write copy and direct creative production of online and offline collateral, including emails, print pieces, landing pages, and digital ads, designed to attract prospective students to visit, apply, and enroll. Plan, execute, and improve comprehensive omnichannel communication plans in Slate CRM (email, print triggers, dynamic content, and personalization). Project-manage complex, multi-channel campaigns, coordinating timelines, deliverables, and performance reporting for high-priority enrollment initiatives. Direct storytelling initiatives that drive enrollment outcomes, collaborating with the Content Team to ideate, script, and distribute impactful stories that support enrollment goals. Develop marketing initiatives that highlight the school's distinguished and growing faculty (including recent appointments and visiting scholars), leveraging their expertise and thought leadership to attract prospective students. Create marketing strategies that communicate the school's flexible hybrid learning model and global reach, appealing to ministry leaders, missionaries, and scholars serving worldwide. Lead the production of select high-stakes video projects, partnering with internal and external creative teams to deliver compelling content for major campaigns, new programs, and brand awareness. Conduct competitive and audience research to identify growth opportunities, inform strategic positioning and messaging, and strengthen the Litfin School’s market presence as a leader in graduate theological education. This job description is intended to represent key areas of responsibilities; specific assignments may vary from time to time, and other duties may be assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree is required. 3-5 years of experience in marketing, with a strong preference for experience in higher education enrollment. Understanding of graduate theological education landscape and trends preferred. Experience marketing to adult learners and working professionals. Demonstrated experience leading video projects from concept to delivery. Experience with Asana project management software or similar platform. Prior experience in Slate CRM is preferred but not a requirement. Strong working knowledge of UX/UI principles, SEO strategy, and digital analytics. Attributes Passion for the mission of theological education and preparing Christian leaders. Proven ability to manage multifaceted projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines with strong planning and execution. Strategic thinker with a blend of data-driven and creative approaches. Strong interpersonal skills; able to build trust and lead through influence. Skilled in writing, editing, and publishing for both print and digital audiences. Adaptable to emerging technologies and marketing platforms. Understanding of and commitment to Wheaton’s evangelical Christian mission and values. Physical Requirements The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 10 pounds. FLSA Status – Exempt As a Christ-centered community, Wheaton College faculty and staff must affirm the College’s Statement of Faith as expressing their own theological convictions and agree to live by the moral standards in Wheaton’s Community Covenant, modeling these commitments for the Christian formation of our students. Wheaton College faculty and staff also support the Christ-Centered Diversity Commitment which highlights our desire to treat all individuals as equal image-bearers of Jesus Christ through diversity, inclusion, justice and unity.
