Description

Description  Manage and support the affairs of the Program and its faculty.  Assist the Department Chair/Program Director with the day to day operations of the Program.  Prepare typed reports, memorandums, and minutes for internal and external use.  Operate personal computer and software, including the ability to manage databases, tables, and external report formats.  Maintain program files as designated by the Department Chair/Program Director.  Assist in the technical aspects of preparation of examinations, typing student course/lab materials, faculty and adjunct evaluation forms, and other related course materials under the guidance of faculty and/or Department Chair/Program Director (e.g., organizing course packets, syllabi, etc.).  Assist in proctoring of student examinations  Process examination forms of student course, faculty and adjunct evaluations of didactic and laboratory courses under the direction of the faculty and/or Department Chair/Program Director  Operate fax and photocopy machines and other office equipment. Monitors and insures the appropriate use of photocopy and fax machines. Orders supplies that are necessary for the Program under the guidance of the Program Director.  Maintain a professional work environment.  Assist with School and Program activities, including events sponsored by the Program (i.e., admissions interviews, white coat ceremony, social events) or special projects as needed. Other Duties:  Assist with other duties for the Department/Program as needed. Qualifications and Experience:  Must possess an earned associate’s degree and one year related work experience or a combination of related education and/or experience to equal three years.  Experience in an academic environment desired, but not essential  Excellent organizational skills  Clear and courteous communication skills  Ability to assign priorities to work requests  Good typing and computer skills  Minor lifting activities related to management of office supplies  Ability to proofread; accuracy is essential Communication  Communicates clearly and effectively (oral and written) with all MPAS faculty and staff as well as all other health profession departments.  Communicates clearly and effectively (oral and written) with MPAS students as needed.  Communicates clearly and effectively (oral and written) with all College/School departments as needed. Physical Demands  For majority of the time must be able to sit, talk, hear, see up close, reach with hands and arms, use hands and fingers to handle supplies and equipment.  For at least 1/3 of the time must be able to walk and stand.  Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs on a regular basis and up to 25 lbs on occasions throughout the work day.  Must be able to work in an environment with moderate noise levels. General Job Duties:  Be in compliance with all school and department’s policies and procedures.  Promote the school and department’s mission and vision in all work activities.  In all work and community activities uphold school’s ethical standards and values.  Participate in continuing education opportunities for work development in areas related to job duties and/or mission of the school.  Participate in academic program meetings, institutional governance and/or community service activities as appropriate to the mission of the school.
