    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">The Opportunity: </span></p>\n<p>As a Lead Software Engineer, you will take ownership of implementing technical solutions for GNSS Simulation and related technologies. Your role will involve leading research and development efforts to implement new features, execute platform integrations, and ensure the validation and verification of system performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, high-quality systems. This position reports to the Software Engineering Manager, based in our Rochester, NY office.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Our Technology:</span></p>\n<p>Safran Federal Systems provides <a href=\"http://www.safranfederalsystems.com/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Resilient Positioning, Navigation and Timing (R-PNT)</a> solutions and custom engineering services to U.S. Government agencies, defense organizations and their contractors. Safran Federal Systems is authorized to work on the full spectrum of U.S. Government classified and unclassified projects, in addition to supporting strategic partnerships for key defense PNT technologies.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">How I will Contribute:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop software for high performance GNSS simulation systems.</li>\n<li>Validate, test, and document new or existing codebases</li>\n<li>Communicate with sensors and other hardware systems, including low latency and precision time applications.</li>\n<li>Optimize code for deployment on devices with constrained computing power and storage</li>\n<li>Write software to communicate with sensors and other hardware systems, including low latency and precision time applications</li>\n<li>Implement and improve GNSS targeting algorithms to our current and future products. </li>\n<li>Provide on-site technical expertise during system deployments, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. </li>\n<li>We value individuals who are proactive, structured, and analytical problem-solvers. You should enjoy working closely with a small team of specialists, where collaboration is key to our success.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What You Bring to the role: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of 6 years of experience in a related role.</li>\n<li>Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Computer Engineering, aerospace engineering, software engineering, or related engineering degree from an accredited institution</li>\n<li>Experience with modern C/C++, Qt, Linux, networking protocols, and Python.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of Git, Gitlab, or equivalent source control and CI/CD tools required</li>\n<li>Experience with software architectures, open architectures, and software design</li>\n<li>Experience with GNSS receivers, SDRs, and other navigation systems/sensors preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience building latency sensitive systems with a strong understanding of low level aspects</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience working with digital hardware (usage of flashers, JTAG, oscilloscopes, etc.) preferred</li>\n<li>Speaking/ Presentation/ Dialogue Skills – white board, small and large group presentations; high degree of comfort speaking senior military and staff personnel; ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals; intuitive ability to pivot from presentation to dialogue as appropriate. </li>\n<li><span>Demonstrated strong customer focus, ownership, urgency, and drive, with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies</span><br></li>\n<li><span>Self-motivated, and ability to self-prioritize effectively to achieve goals, comfortable with ambiguity.</span><br></li>\n<li>Secret level security clearance required or able to be obtained within one year of hire</li>\n<li>US Citizenship required</li>\n<li>The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.</li>\n<li>The person in this position needs to have an ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.</li>\n<li>Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About Safran Federal Systems:</span></span></p>\n<p><span>Safran Federal Systems has been awarded as a <a href=\"https://www.safranfederalsystems.com/media-and-news/safran-federal-systems-earns-prestigious-2025-usa-today-and-rochester-democrat-and-chronicle-top-workplaces-awards\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Winner of the USA Today and Rochester Metro Area Top Workplaces 2025 Award</a>.</span></p>\n<p><span><br>In 2022, Safran acquired Orolia, now Safran Trusted 4D, the world leader in Resilient PNT.
