    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Touro University California invites applications for the faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of our new Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The successful candidate will be required to hold a bachelor’s degree and be registered in Abdomen, OB/Gyn, and/or Vascular by ARDMS, CCI, and/or ARRT. The position requires didactic teaching (lecture and lab), mentorship, precepting, exam proctoring, interdisciplinary education, and participating in academic and service responsibilities at the College and University. Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is an excellent opportunity to work with, educate, and mentor our future sonographers on our Vallejo campus, located in the beautiful Bay Area.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Join the Touro University California team and enjoy the benefits our employees love—click the link below to learn more!</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>https://touro.box.com/Benefits At A Glance</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Development and delivery of a portion of the curriculum, including exam item writing and proctoring</li>\n <li>Prepares for and teaches courses every semester</li>\n <li>Develops an assessment plan to ensure course effectiveness</li>\n <li>Mentorship of Touro University DMS students </li>\n <li>Plan and conduct academic advisement sessions</li>\n <li>Participate in admissions process</li>\n <li>Participate in advisory board meetings</li>\n <li>Provide service on College and University committees</li>\n <li>Attend and participate in departmental meetings </li>\n <li>Participate in continuing education activities</li>\n <li>Perform other faculty duties as appropriate and determined by the program director or dean</li>\n <li>Contribute to new knowledge through research activities, presentations, publications, potentially obtaining grants and/or contracts, clinical trials, and other scholarly work</li>\n <li>Provide reports and other documents as requested by program director or dean</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Qualification(s): </strong>is the Education, Training and/or related experience needed by the person to perform the job. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Applicant should be committed to the support and development of the next generation of enthusiastic diagnostic medical sonographers. This would include (but not necessarily limited to) developing and implementing course curriculum and functioning as instructional leader for the DMS program. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree preferred. </li>\n <li>Licensed by ARDMS, CCI, or ARRT</li>\n <li>Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer</li>\n <li>Teaching experience preferred</li>\n <li>Strong commitment to the professional development of sonography</li>\n <li>Research experience, or interest, preferred</li>\n <li>Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills</li>\n <li>Active participation in professional societies at the local, state, and/or national levels, including SDMS, AIUM, or SVU.</li>\n <li>Personal integrity</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>CORE COMPETENCIES:</strong> identify the behavior an employee is expected to demonstrate</p>\n<p>• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse populations and personalities• Highly creative• Excellent organizational skills• Strong critical thinking skills• Ability to maintain confidentiality• Strong problem-solving skills• Ability to develop and follow policies and procedures• Ability to learn and utilize essential technologies</p>\n<h2>Maximum Salary</h2>USD $145,000.00/Yr.\n<h2>Minimum Salary</h2>USD $90,000.00/Yr.",
