    "description": "<p>We’re looking for an <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">AVP, Pricing Actuary.</span><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Based in the US and reporting to the Head of Pricing, US, this role will contribute and add value to the Actuarial team and to Hamilton groupwide through providing pricing support and analysis as well as specific project-based work. </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Hamilton Select is our US excess and surplus lines insurer based in Richmond, Virginia underwriting hard-to-place accounts in the small and middle-market space through an appointed wholesale broker network.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you will do</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monthly calculation and reporting renewal rate change</li>\n<li>Perform periodic product reviews for each underwriting division</li>\n<li>Maintain and update pricing models, pricing parameters, and data tables supporting underwriting divisions rating algorithms</li>\n<li>Assist in reporting underwriting results to Company and Group leadership</li>\n<li>Collaborate with other departments including underwriting, claims, and IT</li>\n<li>Assist in the production, interpretation and clear communication of analyses to support ad-hoc projects</li>\n<li>Analysis of claims trends to improve prediction of likely outcomes</li>\n<li>Support the future development of the actuarial pricing function and any associated business development work</li>\n<li>Support various other projects within the reserving and actuarial teams (e.g. claims inflation, reinsurance solutions, claims performance metrics and reserving trend analysis).</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you require for the role</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>ACAS or FCAS preferred</li>\n<li>At least four years’ experience within the P&amp;C insurance and/or reinsurance industry focused on actuarial analyses</li>\n<li>Experience calculating and reporting renewal rate change indications</li>\n<li>Familiarity with reinsurance terms, structures, and data</li>\n<li>Demonstrable ability to effectively communicate pricing and analytical findings</li>\n<li>Experience with programming in VBA, SQL, R and/or Python preferred</li>\n<li>Experience with Verisk/ISO rating and the ISO Commercial Lines Manual</li>\n<li>Technical expertise &amp; capabilities within the actuarial field</li>\n<li>Ability to productively leverage data and technology</li>\n<li>Ability to work both independently and collaboratively</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Conduct Standards</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>You must act with integrity</li>\n<li>You must act with due skill, care and diligence</li>\n<li>You must be open and cooperative with the FCA, the PRA and other regulators</li>\n<li>You must pay due regard to the interests of customers and treat them fairly</li>\n<li>You must observe proper standards of market conduct</li>\n<li>You must act to deliver good outcomes for retail customers</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you can expect from us</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>We offer a vibrant, entrepreneurial, and collaborative culture guided by our values: Be Smart, Be Sensible, Be Open and Be More.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We know if we welcome and respect differences, we’ll attract and retain talent that brings a valuable diversity of perspectives and experience.
