From construction management and observation/inspection services to laboratory testing and materials and forensic engineering, our Construction Services market helps to develop and maintain America's infrastructure and supply chain and is a recognized industry leader with more than 25 accredited laboratories.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Step into Your New Role </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Century Engineering, a Kleinfelder company, is currently seeking motivated candidates to fill our immediate full-time <strong>Transportation Construction Inspector </strong>roles. Work assignments could potentially be located in Montgomery, and Prince George’s County areas.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li> Inspect materials used by contractors on highway construction on-site and document compliance with specifications</li>\n <li>Inspect various phases of contractor work to ensure proper highway construction</li>\n <li>Read and interpret construction plans for structures, bridges and roadways with an understanding of construction specifications, engineering tables and reference materials</li>\n <li>Perform tests for specification compliance</li>\n <li>Document pay quantities for monthly and final estimates</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience in the transportation construction industry including: paving/asphalt, surveying, traffic signals, flagger/traffic control and road or bridge construction and maintenance, or relatable experience</li>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li>\n <li>Education/training in civil engineering, construction technology or related field preferred</li>\n <li>Industry standards, MDOT SHA, MAARTCP, ACI, etc. certifications preferred.</li>\n <li>Must be able to read, write, comprehend and speak English fluently</li>\n <li>Attendance, punctuality and reliability are essential requirements</li>\n <li>Familiarity with use of PC-based computer systems and/or tablet systems</li>\n <li>Frequently reports to project/client sites to complete tasks or attend meetings</li>\n <li>Valid driver's license with own transportation</li>\n <li>Ability to pass a fingerprint/background check</li>\n <li>Ability to conduct themselves safely as we work in potentially harsh outside environmental conditions, such as environmental hazards and highway construction sites including heights, heavy equipment and highway traffic.</li>\n <li>Position requires the ability to stand and walk on uneven surfaces for long periods of time and be able to lift up to 40 pounds</li>\n <li>Salary will be commensurate with experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Following an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.   </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Move Forward with Kleinfelder:</strong> Kleinfelder and its’ subsidiaries and affiliates, has been connecting great people to the best work since 1961.
