Assistant Technical, Public Works Facility Services
Public Works – Operations Support
Status: 1 Temporary Full Time Position, duration up to 6 months
Salary Range: $62,902 to $78,628 per annum
Hiring Range: $62,902 to $70,765 per annum
Work mode: Hybrid *see below for more details about this work mode.
Location: 2 Copper Road, Brampton
Hours of work: 35 hours per week
The Role:
Reporting to the Property Manager, Facility Services you will provide administrative support to the Public Works Facility Services section and act as liaison with clients for responding to internal service requests
What You Will Do in This Role:
Support the reception function at 2 Copper Road and assist external clients with rebate applications
Monitor facility services general mailbox and customer service extension
Administer the work order system for preventative maintenance and demand repairs at all PW facilities
Process payroll for bargaining staff including HRMS entries for vacation, sick leave, disability and WSIB claims
Arrange and confirm meetings, take minutes and prepare follow-up actions
Create notices, bulletins and presentations
Order office supplies and sort and distribute mail
Process vendor invoices
What The Role Requires:
A secondary school graduate with post secondary courses in business or office administration, combined with one to three years’ office experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
Superior administrative and time management skills with ability to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment
Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively as a team member
Strong customer service skills
Advanced computer skills utilizing MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook familiarity with Hansen operating system is an asset
A satisfactory Level 1 Criminal Record Check obtained directly from a police station (third-party background checks will not be accepted)
Work Mode: In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve. This arrangement allows for a blend of in person and hybrid work that adapts to support both organizational priorities and employee flexibility and is subject to change over time.
It's important to note that your hybrid work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we're compliant with all regulations and policies
