As a principal designer reporting directly to the Chief Design Officer, you will help shape this new experience layer from the ground up. Working across product verticals, you will architect, prototype, and steer what it means for a user to accomplish complex cross-product goals through a single intelligent interface. Key Responsibilities Drive the Orchestration Experience: Drive the end-to-end design of the intelligent OS layer, including interaction models, information architecture, and the visual and motion language of the orchestration interface. Build Across Verticals: Partner with product, engineering, and design leads across Deel's vertical teams to ensure the orchestration layer is coherent, scalable, and deeply integrated with existing product surfaces. Prototype at the Frontier: Rapidly design, prototype, and test novel interaction paradigms, from intent-driven interfaces and task prediction UX to agentic workflows and personalized push experiences. Shape Experience Standards: Partner with the design systems team and broader design organization to develop principles, interaction patterns, and standards that guide the orchestration experience and scale across the product. Build Alignment: Bring together product, engineering, data science, and leadership through compelling design narratives and collaborative working sessions. Raise the Bar: Set and uphold a high standard for craft, coherence, and quality across every surface the intelligent OS touches. Mentor designers across the organization and contribute to Deel's broader design practice. Requirements Principal or Staff Level Experience: Significant experience operating at a principal, staff, or equivalent level in a fast-paced, high-complexity product environment. A strong portfolio demonstrating that depth is essential. Systems Thinker: Proven ability to design across product surfaces and organizational boundaries. You think in systems, not screens, and have a track record of building coherent experiences across complex product portfolios. Collaborative and Cross-functional: A natural relationship builder who thrives working across design, product, engineering, and data science. You earn trust, build alignment, and know how to bring people with you. Data-informed: Your design decisions are grounded in research, behavioral signals, and evidence. You partner naturally with insights and data science to validate and refine. Prototyping and Craft: Exceptional prototyping skills and a strong visual design sensibility. You move quickly and hold yourself to a high standard of craft at every stage. AI and Emerging Tech: Hands-on experience designing AI-powered product experiences, including agentic workflows, intent-driven interfaces, generative UI, or personalization systems. A portfolio that demonstrates this is essential. Personalization Experience: Familiarity with personalization systems and the design challenges of building experiences that adapt to user context, behavior, and goals at scale. Comfortable with Ambiguity: You are energized by building in whitespace. You drive clarity from complexity and make confident decisions with incomplete information. Communication and Narrative: An exceptional communicator who builds alignment through design vision. You inspire as much as you execute.
