This role contributes directly to the continuity and quality of care by maintaining dependable transportation resources across the organization.</p><p>In addition to fleet responsibilities, this position supports Facilities operations, including general maintenance, seasonal snow removal, and, when needed, transportation of individuals receiving services in collaboration with the Transit Department.</p><hr><h3><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h3><ul><li>Maintain GAAMHA vehicles and equipment in safe, reliable operating condition to support uninterrupted program services.</li><li>Develop and manage a proactive, preventative maintenance schedule for all fleet vehicles and equipment.</li><li>Perform diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance (including brakes, oil changes, tires, electrical systems, and wheelchair lifts).</li><li>Maintain accurate, timely service records using internal systems and standard software.</li><li>Conduct monthly safety inspections to ensure all required emergency and safety equipment is present and functional.</li><li>Review driver-submitted vehicle checklists and address maintenance needs promptly.</li><li>Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local vehicle safety regulations.</li><li>Communicate urgent and anticipated maintenance needs to the Director of Operations in a timely manner.</li><li>Provide regular (weekly) updates summarizing fleet maintenance activities.</li><li>Maintain appropriate inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.</li><li>Collaborate with the Transit Department to ensure vehicle availability and minimize disruptions to services.</li><li>Support facility maintenance needs as assigned.</li><li>Participate in seasonal and weather-related operations, including snow removal (plowing and sanding).</li><li>Safely transport individuals receiving services when needed, following all traffic laws and GAAMHA transportation policies.</li><li>Uphold all safety protocols and promptly report hazards, incidents, or concerns.</li><li>Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions, in accordance with HIPAA and GAAMHA standards.</li><li>Maintain flexibility to support operational needs, including occasional weekends and on-call responsibilities.</li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned to support the mission and operations of the agency.</li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Qualifications</strong></h3><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li><li>Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in motor vehicle maintenance and repair.</li><li>Valid Massachusetts driver’s license required.</li><li>Ability to obtain a Hackney license.</li><li>Must successfully complete pre-employment screening, including drug test, CORI, and fingerprinting.</li><li>Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card preferred.</li><li>Must have own tools required for vehicle maintenance.</li><li>Basic computer proficiency, including ability to maintain digital records (spreadsheets, databases, internal systems).</li><li>Experience with fleet maintenance software preferred.</li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></h3><ul><li>Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.</li><li>Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in a garage/shop environment.</li><li>Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.</li><li>Ability to safely operate vehicles and maintenance equipment.</li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Supervision</strong></h3><ul><li><strong>Reports to:</strong> Director of Operations</li><li><strong>Supervises:</strong> None</li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Work Environment & Mission Impact</strong></h3><p>At GAAMHA, every role contributes to our mission.
